ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(34)H(54)Br(2)N(2)O(6), was obtained by the Michael addition-elimination reaction of (5S)-5-(l-menthyl-oxy)-3,4-dibromo-furan-2(5H)-one with 1,6-hexa-nediamine in the presence of triethyl-amine. The crystal structure contains two chiral five-membered furan-one rings, in twist and envelope conformations, and two six-membered cyclo-hexane rings in chair conformations.

Project description:The mol-ecular structure of 5,5'-bis(-hydroxy-methyl)-3,3'-biisoxazole, C8H8N2O4 (1), is composed of two trans planar isoxazole rings [r.m.s deviation = 0.006 (1) Å], each connected with a methyl hydroxyl group. Similarly, the structure of 4,4',5,5'-tetrakis-(hydroxy-methyl)-3,3'-biisoxazole, C10H12N2O6 (2), is composed of two planar isoxazole rings [r.m.s. deviation = 0.002 (1) Å], but with four hydroxymethyl groups as substituents. Both mol-ecules sit on a center of inversion, thus Z' = 0.5. The crystal structures are stabilized by networks of O-H⋯N [for (1)] and O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions [for (2)], giving rise to corrugated supra-molecular planes. The isoxazole rings are packed in a slip-stacked fashion, with centroid-to-centroid distances of 4.0652 (1) Å for (1) (along the b-axis direction) and of 4.5379 (Å) for (2) (along the a-axis direction).

Project description:The complete molecule of the title compound, C(18)H(24)N(2)O(2), is generated by a crystallographic inversion centre. The torsion angles in the hexa-methyl-ene chain are consistent with an anti-periplanar conformation, whereas the conformation of the O-CH(2)-CH(2)-CH(2) unit is gauche. The three-dimensional crystal packing is stabilized by N-H⋯O and N-H⋯N hydrogen bonding.

Project description:The title compound, [Sn(2)(C(4)H(9))(2)(C(12)H(20))(2)], has two 1-stannacyclo-penta-diene skeletons related by inversion symmetry located at the mid-point of the Sn-Sn bond [2.7682 (2) Å]. Thus, the asymmetric unit comprises one half-mol-ecule. The planarity of the stannacyclo-penta-diene ring is illustrated by the dihedral angle of 0.3 (1)°, defined by the C(4) and C-Sn-C planes. To avoid steric repulsion, the two stannole rings are oriented in an anti fashion through the Sn-Sn bond. These structural features are similar to those of other bis-tannoles.

Project description:The title compound, C(10)H(24)N(6)O(4), is the most stable type of nitric oxide (NO) donor among the broad category of discrete N-diazeniumdiolates (NO adducts of nucleophilic small molecule amines). Sitting astride a crystallographic inversion center, the molecule contains a symmetric dimethylhexane-1,6-diamine structure bearing two planar O(2)-methylated N-diazeniumdiolate functional groups [N(O)=NOMe]. These two groups are parallel to each other and have the potential to release four molecules of NO. The methylated diazeniumdiolate substituent removes the negative charge from the typical N(O)=NO(-) group, thereby increasing the stability of the diazeniumdiolate structure. The crystal was nonmerohedrally twinned by a 180 degrees rotation about the real [101] axis. This is the first N-based bis-diazeniumdiolate compound with a flexible aliphatic main unit to have its structure analyzed and this work demonstrates the utility of stabilizing the N-diazeniumdiolate functional group by methylation.

Short C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between meth-oxy groups result in a one-dimensional polymeric chain of mol-ecules lying parallel to the b axis. One tert-butyl group is disordered equally over two positions.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric title compound, C(18)H(28)Br(2)O(2), the alkyl chains adopt a fully extended all-trans conformation and each of them is almost planar. In addition, the alkyl chains are coplanar with the benzene ring. Inter-molecular Br⋯Br inter-actions [3.410 (3) Å] are present, resulting in a one-dimensional supra-molecular architecture.
