Diaqua-bis(5-methyl-pyridine-2-carboxyl-ato-?N,O)zinc(II).

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Zn(C(7)H(6)NO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the Zn atom (site symmetry ) adopts a distorted trans-ZnN(2)O(4) octa-hedral coordination arising from two N,O-bidentate 5-methyl-pyridine-2-carboxyl-ate ligands and two water mol-ecules. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules form a layered network linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds.
