Poly[bis-(?-hemihydrogen 2-phenyl-quinoline-4-carboxyl-ato-?N,O)silver(I)].

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Ag(C(16)H(10.5)NO(2))(2)], the Ag(I) cation (site symmetry 2) is coordinated by two N atoms in a near-linear AgN(2) arrangement. Two carboxyl-ate O atoms from two additional 2-phenyl-quinoline-4-carboxyl-ate ligands form long Ag-O bonds [2.6585?(17)?Å], resulting in a distorted square-planar arrangement. The bridging ligands result in infinite corrugated sheets propagating in (010). An O-H?O hydrogen bond, disordered about a twofold axis, completes the structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Zn(C(10)H(6)NO(2))(2)(H(2)O)](n), consists of one quinoline-4-carboxyl-ate anion, half of a Zn(2+) cation and half of a coordinated water mol-ecule. The cation and the water O atom have crystallographically imposed inversion and twofold rotation symmetry, respectively. The metal centre displays an elongated ZnO(6) octa-hedral coordination geometry provided by the O atoms of four anions at the equatorial plane and two axial water mol-ecules. Each anion and water mol-ecule act as bridges between Zn(II) cations, forming a polymeric chain parallel to [001]. The chains are further linked into a three-dimensional framework through O-H?N hydrogen bonds.

Each cation is N,O-chelated by the carboxyl-ate anions of two 3,7-dichloro-quinoline-8-carboxyl-ate ligands. The second carboxyl-ate O atom of each ligand coordinates to the Co(II) cation of an adjacent mol-ecule, linking the cations into a linear chain. Project description:The Pb(II) atom in the title compound, [Pb(C(10)H(6)NO(2))(2)], is N,O-chelated by two quinoline-2-carboxyl-ate anions in a distorted ?-trigonal-bipyramidal environment; four atoms are connected to the Pb(II) atom by regular coordination bonds. The structure also features two somewhat long Pb?O inter-actions [2.952?(3) and 3.014?(3)?Å]. These long inter-actions give rise to a layer coordination polymer having the lead atom in a distorted ?-monocapped octa-hedral geometry.
