ABSTRACT: In the mol-ecule of the title compound, C(20)H(16)N(6), the central C-C bond lies on a crystallographic inversion centre. The quinoxalidine ring is nearly planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.021?(2)?Å from the mean plane. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular C-H?N inter-actions, leading to the formation of a layer-like structure, which extends along the a axis.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title bidentate Schiff base ligand, C(18)H(20)N(2)O(2), has twofold crystallographic rotation symmetry, giving one half-mol-ecule per asymmetric unit. It adopts a twisted E configuration with respect to the azomethine C=N bond. The imino group is coplanar with the aromatic ring. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 69.52?(5)°.
