In the crystal structure, weak inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into chains propagating along the b axis.

Project description:The acridine ring system and the benzene ring in the title compound, C(20)H(13)NO(2), are oriented at a dihedral angle of 6.4 (2)°. The carboxyl group is twisted at an angle of 83.6 (2)° relative to the acridine skeleton. The mol-ecules in the crystal are arranged in stacks along the b axis, with two of the acridine rings involved in multiple π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.536 (2)-3.894 (2) Å]. Stacks arranged parallel are linked via C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming layers in the ac plane that are in contact with adjacent, inversely oriented layers via other C-H⋯π inter-actions, giving rise to double layers. The inversely oriented double layers inter-act dispersively. The acridine units are parallel within the parallel-oriented stacks, but inclined at an angle of 79.6 (2)° in the inversely oriented stacks.

9-Chloro-1-methyl-7-phenyl-5,6-dihydro-13H-indolo[3,2-c]acridine.

Project description:The title compound, C(26)H(19)ClN(2), is a 5,6-dihydro-13H-indolo[3,2-c]acridine prepared by condensation of a 2,3,4,9-tetra-hydro-1H-carbazol-1-one with 2-amino-benzophenone. The crystals undergo a destructive phase change upon cooling at varying temperatures between 270 and 200 K, depending on cooling rate and disturbance by vibration, thus indicating supercooling of the metastable room-temperature structure at lower temperature. The overall planarity of the indolo[3,2-c]acridine part of the mol-ecule is inter-rupted by the saturated ethyl-ene group, and the planes of the two halves exhibit a dihedral angle of 22.05 (6)° with each other while themselves being essentially planar. Packing is dominated by C-H⋯π inter-actions. No classical hydrogen bonds or stacking inter-actions are observed.

Project description:In the title compound, C(22)H(17)NO(2), the acridine ring system and the benzene ring are oriented at a dihedral angle of 37.7 (1)°. The carboxyl group is twisted at an angle of 67.7 (1)° relative to the acridine skeleton. In the crystal, mol-ecules are arranged in stacks along the b axis, with all of the acridine rings involved in multiple π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.632 (2)-4.101 (2) Å]. The acridine moieties are parallel within the stacks, but inclined at an angle of 52.7 (1)° in adjacent stacks.

Project description:In the title co-crystal, C(22)H(16)O(10)·C(22)H(18)O(8), the independent tetra-methyl 9,10-dihydro-9,10-dioxoanthracene-2,3,6,7-tetra-carboxyl-ate, (I), and tetra-methyl anthracene-2,3,6,7-tetra-carboxyl-ate, (II), components occupy separate crystallographic inversion centers. In (II), the dihedral angles between the mean aromatic plane and the two independent carboxyl-ate planes are 41.32 (10) and -38.35 (10)°. The methyl-carboxyl-ate groups of (I) are disordered, with each resolvable into two groups. In the least disordered carboxyl-ate, the apparent angles between the mean aromatic plane and the two partial carboxyl-ate planes [site occupations = 0.510 (3) and 0.490 (3)] are 16.8 (3) and 23.3 (3)°. In the highly disordered group, the apparent angles between the mean aromatic plane and the two partial carboxyl-ate planes [site occupations = 0.510 (3) and 0.490 (3)] are 78.3 (3) and -74.1 (3)°. In addition, this extreme disorder leads to an artificially elongated C(aromatic)-C(carbox-yl) bond.

The fused-ring system is buckled owing to the ethyl-ene linkage in the central ring, the two flanking aromatic rings being twisted by 20.1?(1)°. This ethyl-ene portion is disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio. The phenyl ring is twisted by 69.5?(1)° relative to the amino- and cyano-bearing aromatic ring. In the crystal, two mol-ecules are linked by an N-H?N hydrogen bond, generating a a helical chain along [010].

Project description:In the title pyrazoline derivative, C(14)H(12)ClN(3)S(2), the thiophene ring is disordered over two orientations with a refined site-occupancy ratio of 0.832 (4):0.168 (4). The pyrazoline ring adopts an envelope conformation with the C atom linking the thiophene ring at the flap. The dihedral angles between the benzene ring and the major and minor components of the thiophene ring are 88.6 (3) and 85.6 (15)°, respectively while the dihedral angle between the disorder components of the ring is 3.1 (16)°. The mean plane of the pyrazoline ring makes dihedral angles of 11.86 (13), 80.1 (3) and 83.0 (15)°, respectively, with the benzene ring, and the major and minor components of the thiophene ring. An intra-molecular N(amide)-H⋯N(pyrazoline) hydrogen bond generates an S(5) ring motif. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by weak C-H⋯S and N(amide)-H⋯S inter-actions into a tape along [10[Formula: see text]]. C-H⋯π inter-actions are also observed.
