ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Al(3)LaCl(12)(C(12)H(18))]·C(6)H(6), all mol-ecules are located on a mirror plane. Three chloridoaluminate groups and a hexa-methyl-benzene mol-ecule are bound to the central lanthanum(III) ion, forming a distorted penta-gonal bipyramid with the ?(6)-coordinated arene located at the apical position. The hexa-methyl-benzene ligand disordered between two orientations in a 1:1 ratio is also involved in parallel-slipped ?-? stacking inter-molecular inter-actions with a benzene solvent mol-ecule [centroid-centroid distance 3.612?(4)?Å].

In the title compound, [Al(3)LaCl(12)(C(12)H(18))]·C(6)H(6), all mol-ecules are located on a mirror plane. Project description:The mol-ecular geometry of the complex cation in the title structure, [(?-Cl)(3){Ru(II)(?(6)-C(6)Me(6))}(2)][Fe(III)Cl(4)], compares very well with that reported earlier for the corresponding PF(6) (-) salt [Pandey et al. (1999 ?). J. Organomet. Chem.592, 278-282]. The [FeCl(4)](-) counter ion has a rather regular tetra-hedral geometry with Fe-Cl distances and Cl-Fe-Cl angles in the range 2.1891?(7)-2.2018?(8)?Å and 107.10?(3)-110.56?(3)°, respectively. There are no significant inter-molecular inter-actions in the crystal except for some weak C-H?Cl contacts, which in turn indicates that the crystal packing is determined predominantly by electrostatic inter-actions between the ionic constituents.

Project description:In the title half-sandwich complex, [RuCl(?(6)-C(12)H(18))(C(10)H(9)N(3))]PF(6)·CH(2)Cl(2), the ruthenium(II) ion is four-coordinated by a chloro, a hexa-methyl-benzene and a bidentate N,N'-chelating di(pyridin-2-yl)amine ligand. In the crystal, the amino N-H group forms a hydrogen bond with the chloro ligand of a neighbouring complex, thus forming chains along the b axis. Weak inter-molecular C-H?F and C-H? Cl contacts are also observed.

Project description:Dimeric mol-ecules of the title compound, [Ru(2)Cl(4)(C(12)H(18))(2)], are located on a crystallographic centre of inversion with one mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The hexa-methyl-benzene rings are in an ?(6)-coordination to the ruthenium centres, which are bridged by two chloride ligands. In addition, the ruthenium centres are bonded to another chloride ligand. The aromatic rings and the Ru(2)Cl(2) four-membered ring enclose a dihedral angle of 55.85?(6)°.

Project description:In the title compound, [RuCl(C(10)H(14))(C(14)H(16)N(2))]PF(6), the aromatic ring of the isopropyl-methyl-benzene fragment shows an ?(6)-arene coordination to the ruthenium atom. Its coordination sphere is completed by a chloride ligand and 2-(sec-butyl-imino-meth-yl)quinoline. The dihedral angle between the ?(6)-arene ring and the quinoline Schiff base is 45.64?(9)°. The sec-butyl substituent and the PF(6) (-) anion are disordered over two positions with ratios of 0.595?(11):0.405?(11) and 0.752?(8):0.248?(8), respectively.

Tris(2-amino-pyridinium) hexa-chlorido-indate(III).

Project description:The Schiff base (E)-4-chloro-2-[(pyridin-2-yl-imino)-meth-yl]phenol was reacted with InCl(3)·4H(2)O, generating the title molecular salt, (C(5)H(7)N(2))(3)[InCl(6)]. The octa-hedral hexa-chlorido-indate(III) anion is located on an inversion centre, and one half of the anion and two crystallographically independent cations form the asymmetric unit. One of the cations is located on a twofold rotation axis and its intra-ring C and N atoms simulate this symmetry by exchanging their positions in statistical disorder. In the crystal, weak N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds and two types of ?-? interactions with centroid-centroid separations of 4.047?(3) and 4.202?(3)?Å are observed.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Nd(2)(C(6)H(5)COO)(5)Cl(C(4)H(8)O(2))]·2.5C(4)H(8)O(2), consists of two Nd(III) ions bridged by one Cl(-) ion, five benzoate ions and one coordinating 1,4-dioxane mol-ecule. One Nd(III) ion is nine-coordinate, with a very distorted monocapped square-anti-prismatic geometry. It is coordinated by two chelating carboxyl-ate groups, three monodentate carboxyl-ate groups, one chloride ion and one dioxane mol-ecule. A second independent Nd(III) ion is eight-coordinated in a distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry by one chelating carboxyl-ate group, five monodentate carboxyl-ate groups and one chloride ion. The chains of the extended structure are parallel to the crystallographic b axis. There is a small amount of void space which is filled with five disordered dioxane solvent mol-ecules per unit cell. The intensity contribution of the disordered solvent molecules was removed by applying the SQUEEZE procedure in PLATON [Spek (2009). Acta Cryst. D65, 148-155].

Project description:The title compound, [La(C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7))(3)(C(2)H(6)O)(3)]·C(15)H(12)N(4), has two mol-ecular building blocks, namely the neutral mononuclear adduct of lanthanum picrate with ethanol [i.e. La(pic)(3):EtOH (1:3); La(pic)(3) = lanthanum picrate and EtOH = ethanol] and the oligodentate aromatic nitro-gen base tri-2-pyridylamine (tpa). The asymmetric unit contains two formula units. The compound was prepared during an investigation of the stereochemistry of lanthanoid picrate complexes with O-donor ligands. The metal-ligand adduct adopts a nine-coordinate tricapped trigonal-prismatic metal atom environment. The stereochemical arrangement of the ligands about the metal core is typical of a fac-isomer with stoichiometry M(bidentate)(3)(monodentate)(3). Face-to-face hydrogen bonds are found between the tpa mol-ecule and the ethanol ligands. One ethanol ligand is disordered over two positions, with site occupancy factors of ca 0.7 and 0.3. The oxygen atoms of a nitro group are also disordered over two positions; the site occupancy factors are ca 0.6 and 0.4.

The crystal structure shows several close H?F contacts between the hexa-fluorido-phosphate counter-ions and the C5Me5 ligands.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title ionic compound (C(7)H(6)NS)[AuCl(4)]·C(4)H(8)O, the [AuCl(4)](-) anion shows a typical square-planar geometry. Numerous weak C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds between [AuCl(4)](-) and the 1,3-benzothia-zolium units form layers comprised of 24-membered rings in which hydrogen-bonded tetra-hydro-furan (THF) solvent mol-ecules are accommodated. C-H?Cl inter-actions between THF and [AuCl(4)](-) from adjacent layers result in bilayers. These are further stabilized by ?-? inter-actions between the thia-zole and benzene rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.971?(3)?Å], resulting in the formation of a three-dimensional supra-molecular assembly.
