Bis[bis-(1-oxo-2-pyrid-yl)-aminato]-copper(II) tetra-hydrate.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cu(C(10)H(8)N(3)O(2))(2)]·4H(2)O, the Cu(II) ion has a distorted octa-hedral coordination formed by four O [Cu-O = 2.051?(3)-2.083?(4)?Å] and two N [Cu-N = 1.985?(4) and 1.996?(4)?Å] atoms from two tridentate bis-(1-oxo-2-pyrid-yl)aminate ligands. In the two ligands, the pyridyl rings form dihedral angles of 21.0?(1) and 15.5?(1)°. The crystal packing exhibits an extensive network of O-H?O hydrogen bonds and ?-? inter-actions proved by short distances of 3.650?(1) and 3.732?(2)?Å between the centroids of pyridyl rings of neighbouring mol-ecules.

Project description:The title compound, [Zn(C(6)H(4)N(5))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·4H(2)O, was synthesized by the hydro-thermal reaction of Zn(CH(3)COO)(2)·2H(2)O with 3-(2H-tetra-zol-5-yl)pyridine. The Zn(II) ion is located on an inversion center and is coordinated by two pyridine N atoms from two 5-(3-pyrid-yl)tetra-zolide ligands and four coordinated water mol-ecules in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The dihedral angle between the pyridine and tetra-zole rings is 9.920?(7)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional network by inter-molecular O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds involving the tetra-zole group N atoms, the aqua ligands and solvent water mol-ecules.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mg(H(2)O)(6)](C(9)H(6)N(3)O(3)S)(2)·4H(2)O, contains half of a centrosymmetric cation, one 4-(3-pyrid-yl)pyrimidin-2-sulfonate anion and two solvent water mol-ecules. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds link the cations, anions and water mol-ecules into a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure. The crystal packing also exhibits inter-molecular π-π inter-actions between the aromatic rings of the anions with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.604 (2) Å.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(9)H(6)N(3)O(3)S)(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O, the Cu(II) atom lies on an inversion centre and is coordinated by four water mol-ecules in equatorial positions and two N atoms from two 4-(4-pyrid-yl)pyrimidine-2-sulfonate ligands in apical positions. The asymmetric unit contains half of the complex and one free water mol-ecule. The water mol-ecules, including the uncoordinated water mol-ecules, and sulfonate O atoms are involved in O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

The dinuclear complex mol-ecules are assembled into one-dimensional supra-molecular chains extending in the [100] direction by hydrogen bonds. Inter-chain hydrogen bonds further link these chains into layers perpendicular to [001].

Project description:The paddle-wheel-type centrosymmetric dinuclear title complex, [Zn(2)(C(7)H(5)O(2))(4)(C(12)H(10)N(2))(2)], contains four bridging benzoate groups and two terminal trans-1-(2-pyrid-yl)-2-(4-pyrid-yl)ethyl-ene (L) ligands. The inversion center is located between the two Zn(II) atoms. The octa-hedral coordination around the Zn(II) atom, with four O atoms in the equatorial plane, is completed by an N atom of the L mol-ecule [Zn-N = 2.0198?(15)?Å] and by the second Zn(II) atom [Zn?Zn = 2.971?(8)?Å]. The Zn(II) atom is 0.372?Å out of the plane of the four coordinating O atoms.

The anion is a six-coordinate complex with a distorted octa-hedral geometry around the Fe(III )atom. A wide range of non-covalent inter-actions, i.e. O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, ion pairing, C-O⋯π [3.431 (2) Å] and C-H⋯π stacking inter-actions result in the formation of a three-dimensional network structure.

Project description:The title compound, (C(10)H(9)N(2))[Cr(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)]·4H(2)O or (4,4'-bipyH)[Cr(pydc)(2)]·4H(2)O (where 4,4'-bipy is 4,4'-bipyridine and pydcH(2) is pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid), was synthesized by the reaction of chromium(III) chloride hexa-hydrate with pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid and 4,4'-bipyridine in a 1:2:4 molar ratio in aqueous solution. This compound is composed of an anionic complex, [Cr(pydc)(2)](-), protonated 4,4'-bipyridine as a counter-ion, (4,4'-bipyH)(+), and four uncoordinated water mol-ecules. The anion is a six-coordinate complex with a distorted octa-hedral geometry around the Cr(III) atom, formed by two tridentate pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate, pydc(2-), groups. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and C-O⋯π stacking inter-actions (with distances of 3.3390 (13) and 3.4575 (13) Å) connect the various components into a supra-molecular structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title hydrated complex salt, (C18H14N5)2[Pt(CN)4]·4H2O, consists of one 2-[2,5-bis-(pyridin-2-yl)-1H-imidazol-4-yl]pyridinium cation, half a tetra-cyanidoplatinate(II) dianion, which is located about a crystallographic inversion center, and two water mol-ecules of crystallization. The Pt(II) atom has a square-planar coordination environment, with Pt-CCN distances of 1.992 (4) and 2.000 (4) Å. In the cation, there is an N-H⋯N hydrogen bond linking adjacent pyridinium and pyridine rings in positions 4 and 5. Despite this, the organic component is non-planar, as shown by the dihedral angles of 10.3 (2), 6.60 (19) and 15.66 (18)° between the planes of the central imidazole ring and the pyridine/pyridinium substituents in the 2-, 4- and 5-positions. In the crystal, cations and anions are linked via O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. Additional π-π, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N contacts provide stabilization to the crystal lattice.

In addition, the dinuclear species is stabilized by two hydrogen-bonded perchlorate anions.
