Di-μ-chromato-κO:O'-bis-[bis-(phenan-throline-κN,N')cadmium(II)] dihydrate.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cd(2)Cr(2)O(8)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(4)]·2H(2)O, which was obtained by hydro-thermal reaction of CdCO(3) and phenanthroline with K(2)CrO(4) at 393 K, two distorted Cd(N(4)O(2)) octa-hedra are linked through μ(2)-bridging chromate anions, forming a centrosymmetric tetra-nuclear eight-membered ring complex. The water mol-ecules link the chromate O atoms via inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. These aggregates pack to a three-dimensional network through weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π hydrogen-bonding contacts.

Project description:The centrosymmetric binuclear title complex, [Mn(2)(C(8)H(5)NO(5))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O, was obtained by the reaction of manganese chloride with 5-carb-oxy-1-carboxy-methyl-2-oxidopyridinium and 1,10-phenanthroline. The Mn(II) atom is coordinated by two N atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, two O atoms from two 5-carboxyl-ato-1-carboxyl-atomethyl-2-oxidopyridinium ligands and two water mol-ecules, leading to a distorted octahedral MnN(2)O(4) environment. Project description:The dinuclear mol-ecule of the title compound, [Cd(2)(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(4)(C(2)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, lies on an inversion centre and forms 12-membered (CdNC(3)O)(2) metallacycles with the two Cd(2+) ions bridged by two nicotinate ligands. Both Cd(2+) ions display coordination polyhedra with a distorted octa-hedral geometry that includes two pyridine N atoms from bridging and terminal nicotinate anions, two amine N atoms from chelating ethylene-diamine ligands, carboxylate O atoms from bridging nicotinate anions and water O atoms. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds result in the formation of a three-dimensional network, and π-π stacking inter-actions are observed between symmetry-related pyridine rings of bridging as well as terminal nicotinate anions (the centroid-centroid distances are 3.59 and 3.69 Å, respectively, and the distances between parallel planes of the stacked pyridine rings are 3.53 and 3.43 Å, respectively). The two methylene groups of the ethylene-diamine ligand are disordered over two positions; the site occupancy factors are ca 0.8 and 0.2.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(2)H(3)O(3))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)]NO(3), the Cu(II) atom is coordinated by two phenanthroline (phen) ligands and one carboxyl-O atom of a hy-droxy-acetate anion in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The hy-droxy group of the hy-droxy-acetate ligand links with the counter NO(3) (-) anion via a pair of bifurcated O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The centroid-centroid distance of 3.5676 (14) Å between benzene rings of parallel phen ligands of adjacent mol-ecules suggests the existence of π-π stacking. Weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding is also present in the crystal structure.

Project description:The title complex, [Cu(2)(C(4)H(5)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(2)·2H(2)O, contains a dimeric [Cu(2)(C(4)H(5)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](2+) dication with two five-coordinated Cu(II) ions linked by two methacrylate ions in a syn-syn bridging arrangement. The dication possesses pseudo-twofold rotational symmetry. The penta-coordination of each Cu(II) ion has a distorted square-pyramidal geometry, with two N donors from a phenanthroline ligand and two carboxyl-ate O atoms occupying basal sites and the apical position being occupied by a water mol-ecule. In the crystal packing, mol-ecules are linked to form a three-dimensional framework by O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances of 3.6039 (15), 3.5301 (15), 3.6015 (15), 3.6496 (15) and 3.6858 (15) Å].

Each Cu(II) atom displays an elongted square-pyramidal CuN(2)O(3) coordination geometry with a slight tetra-hedral distortion in the basal plane. The dimeric units are linked into a three-dimensional network by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title complex, [Cd(2)(NO(3))(4)(C(24)H(16)N(6))(CH(4)O)(2)], displays a centrosymmetric dinuclear structure, in which the 2,3,5,6-tetra-2-pyridinylpyrazine (tppz) ligand links two Cd ions separated by 7.323 (4) Å. Each Cd(II) center is seven-coordinated by three N-atom donors of tppz in one plane, by two O atoms nearly normal to this plane, and by two O atoms 0.393 (3) and 0.488 (3) Å from that plane. The two Cd(II) ions are above and below the plane of the pyrazine ring of the tppz ligand, oriented with respect to the pyridine rings at dihedral angles of 38.01 (3) and 31.90 (3)°. The dihedral angle between the two pyridine rings is 41.11 (3)°. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric dinuclear title complex, [Cu(2)(C(5)H(6)O(4))(2)(C(12)H(18)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the Cu(II) atom displays a dis-torted square-pyramidal coordination environment with the basal plane occupied by two phenanthroline N atoms and two O atoms from different glutarate dianions while a water mol-ecule is located at the apical position. Of the two water H atoms, one is engaged in an intra-molecular hydrogen bond with a free oxygen of the dianion whereas the second is engaged in an inter-molecular hydrogen bond, building a corrugated layer parallel to (100). These layers are further connected through π-π stacking inter-actions involving symmetry-related phenanthroline rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.5599 (17) and 3.5617 (18) Å], building a three dimensionnal network. C-H⋯π inter-actions involving the phenanthroline ring system are also observed.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric title compound, [Co(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, the two Co(II) cations are bridged by pairs of pyridine-2,5-dicarboxyl-ate anions across an inversion center. Besides two pyridine-2,5-dicarboxyl-ate anions, one bidentate 2,2'-bipyridine and one water mol-ecule coordinate to the Co cation, completing a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. Within the dinuclear mol-ecule, π-π stacking occurs between parallel pyridine rings with centroid-centroid distances of 3.802 (2) Å. The crystal structure contains extensive O-H⋯O and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-H⋯π inter-actions.

The dimeric complex is located on a crystallographic twofold axis and each Ni atom displays a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The crystal structure is stabilized via intra-molecular hydrogen bonding of the bridging water mol-ecule and the uncoordinated carboxyl-ate O atoms, and by C-H⋯O and π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances between neighbouring phenanthroline ring systems and between the benzene ring of a 4-methyl-benzoate unit and a phenanthroline ring system are 3.662 (2) and 3.611 (3) Å, respectively].
