Bis[?-5-(5-carboxyl-ato-3-pyrid-yl)tetra-zolato-?N,N:N]bis-[triaqua-zinc(II)].

ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Zn(2)(C(7)H(3)N(5)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(6)], the 5-(5-carboxyl-ato-3-pyrid-yl)tetra-zolate ligand chelates the Zn(II) center through one pyridyl N and one tetra-zolate N atom, and uses another N atom to bridge to the second Zn atom, forming a centrosymmetric dinuclear unit. Three coordinated water mol-ecules complete the distorted octa-hedral geometry of the Zn(II) atom. O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds involving the coordinated water mol-ecules, tetra-zolate N atoms and the carboxyl-ate group result in a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:The title compound, [Zn(2)(C(6)H(4)N(5))(2)(H(2)O)(6)](CF(3)CO(2))(2)·H(2)O, was synthesized by hydro-thermal reaction of ZnBr(2), CF(3)COOH and 2-(2H-tetra-zol-5-yl)pyridine. The Zn(II) cation is coordinated by one N atom from the 5-(2-pyrid-yl)tetra-zolate anion, two N atoms from another 5-(2-pyrid-yl)tetra-zolate anion and three O atoms from three water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The tetra-zole ligands bridge the metal ions of the dimeric structure, and the dimers are located on crystallographic inversion centers. An inter-stitial solvent water mol-ecule is located on a crystallographic mirror plane, and the CF(3)COO(-) counter-anions are also not coordinated to the metal complex. The F atoms of the anions are disordered with the F atoms statistically distributed over two positions in a 0.56?(3)/0.44?(3) ratio. All the water H atoms are involved in O-H?N and O-H?O hydrogen bonds with uncoordinated water O atoms, carboxyl-ate O atoms and tetra-zole N atoms. The inter-actions link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ni(2)(C(8)H(6)O(8))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(6)]·6H(2)O, contains a half of the centrosymmetric dinuclear complex mol-ecule and three uncoordinated water mol-ecules. In the dinuclear mol-ecule, two Ni(II) cations are bridged by the butane-1,2,3,4-tetra-carboxyl-ate (BTC(4-)) anion. Each Ni(II) atom is coordinated by two N atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, one O atom from the BTC(4-) anion and three aqua ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Inter-molecuar O-H?O hydrogen bonds and ?-? stacking inter-ations [centroid-centroid distances = 3.646?(2), 3.781?(2) and 3.642?(2)?Å] consolidate the crystal packing.

Project description:The title coordination polymer, [Zn(C(8)H(4)N(4)O(2))(H(2)O)](n), was prepared by the hydro-thermal reaction of zinc nitrate and 2-(1H-tetra-zol-5-yl)benzoic acid. Two types of coordinated zinc cations exist in the structure. One is tetra-hedrally coordinated by two O and two N from two ligands, the other is octa-hedrally coordinated by two N and two O from two ligands at equatorial sites and by two O atoms of water mol-ecules at axial sites, resulting in a two-dimensional framework. The crystal structure is stabilized by intra-molecular O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds.

The dihedral angle between the pyridine and tetra-zole rings is 9.920?(7)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional network by inter-molecular O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds involving the tetra-zole group N atoms, the aqua ligands and solvent water mol-ecules.

Project description:The paddle-wheel-type centrosymmetric dinuclear title complex, [Zn(2)(C(7)H(5)O(2))(4)(C(12)H(10)N(2))(2)], contains four bridging benzoate groups and two terminal trans-1-(2-pyrid-yl)-2-(4-pyrid-yl)ethyl-ene (L) ligands. The inversion center is located between the two Zn(II) atoms. The octa-hedral coordination around the Zn(II) atom, with four O atoms in the equatorial plane, is completed by an N atom of the L mol-ecule [Zn-N = 2.0198?(15)?Å] and by the second Zn(II) atom [Zn?Zn = 2.971?(8)?Å]. The Zn(II) atom is 0.372?Å out of the plane of the four coordinating O atoms.

There are weak intra-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds between the two ligands. Project description:In the title compound, [Zn(C(6)H(3)FNO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O, the Zn(II) atom is octa-hedrally coordinated in a ZnO(4)N(2) environment by two 3-fluoro-pyridine-4-carboxyl-ate (3-fpy4-cbx) ligands and four water mol-ecules. The [Zn(3-fpy4-cbx)(2)(H(2)O)(4)] mol-ecules form a three-dimensional network through strong O-H?O and weak O-H?F hydrogen bonds between 3-fpy4-cbx and water mol-ecules. The crystal used for data collection was a twin, with the twin law corresponding to a 180° rotation about the real-space [001] axis. The major twin fraction refined to 0.795?(1).

The Fe(II) mononuclear units are further connected by inter-molecular O-H?N and C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional framework.
