2-[1-(2-Hydr-oxy-3-methoxy-benz-yl)-1H-benzimidazol-2-yl]-6-methoxy-phenol methanol 1.13-solvate.

ABSTRACT: In the main mol-ecule of the title compound, C(22)H(20)N(2)O(4)·1.13CH(4)O, the dihedral angles between the benzimidazole plane and the two benzene rings are 80.53?(10) and 82.76?(10)°. The solvent mol-ecules are disordered between three positions, with refined occupancies of 0.506?(13), 0.373?(13) and 0.249?(5). The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular O-H?O, O-H?N and C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The crystal studied was a merohedral twin [BASF ratio of 0.917?(1)/0.083?(1)].

In the main mol-ecule of the title compound, C(22)H(20)N(2)O(4)·1.13CH(4)O, the dihedral angles between the benzimidazole plane and the two benzene rings are 80.53 (10) and 82.76 (10)°. The solvent mol-ecules are disordered between three positions, with refined occupancies of 0.506 (13), 0.373 (13) and 0.249 (5). Project description:In the mol-ecular structure of the title compound, C(15)H(15)NO(3), the two benzene rings are twisted with respect to each other, making a dihedral angle of 75.11?(10)°. In the amide fragment, the C=O and C-N bond distances are 1.248?(3) and 1.321?(3)?Å, respectively, indicating electron delocalization. A partially ovelapped arrangement between parallel hydroxy-methoxy-benzene rings is observed in the crystal structure, and the face-to-face distance of 3.531?(16)?Å suggests the existence of weak ?-? stacking. N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonding is also present in the crystal structure.

Project description:The title compound, C(8)H(12)O(7)P(2)·CH(4)O, is a monoesterified bis-phospho-nate (or 1-hydroxy-methyl-ene-1,1-bis-phospho-nic acid). These synthetic compounds are widely used in medicine to inhibit bone resorption in diseases like osteoporosis, and are characterized by a stable P-C-P group and are thus analogs of inorganic pyrophosphate. By masking one or several ionizable groups, introduced as phosphono-ester, it was anti-cipated the formation of prodrugs with higher lipophilicity that could facilitate the drug delivery and metabolization. Mol-ecules are paired by inter-molecular hydrogen bonds involving the phospho-nic groups. In addition, dimers are connected side-by-side, building infinite ribbons along the a-axis direction; these ribbons are cross-linked perpendicularly along the b-axis direction via a methanol solvent mol-ecule (disordered over two sites with occupancy factors ca 0.6 and 0.4), forming an extended inter-molecular hydrogen-bonded network. The H atoms of the methyl group in the main molecule are disordered equally over two positions.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(19)H(18)NO(2))(2)[ZnI(4)]·CH(3)OH, each cation is nearly planar and exists in an E configuration, the dihedral angles between the quinolinium systems and the benzene rings being 1.78 (10) and 5.44 (10)° for the two cations. The [ZnI(4)](2-) anion displays a very slightly distorted tetra-hedral geometry. There are intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the hydr-oxy and meth-oxy groups in each cation which generate S(5) ring motifs. In the crystal structure, cations are linked together by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and weak C-H⋯O inter-actions, whereas the anions are linked to the cations through weak C-H⋯I inter-actions. The asymmetric unit also contains a methanol solvent mol-ecule which is linked to one of the cations by an O-H⋯O hydrogen bond and the anion through an O-H⋯I hydrogen bond. The crystal is further stabilized by C-H⋯π and π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances 3.6054 (15) and 3.6057 (15) Å].

Project description:The title complex, [RuCl(2)(C(25)H(26)N(2))]·CH(2)Cl(2), is best thought of as containing an octa-hedrally coordinated Ru center with the arene occupying three sites. Two Ru-Cl bonds and one Ru-carbene bond complete the distorted octa-hedron. The carbene portion of the ligand is a benzimidazole ring. This ring is connected to the C(6)H(2)(CH(3))(3) arene group by a CH(2) bridge. This leads to a system with very little apparent strain. A dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecule completes the crystal structure. Further stabilization is accomplished via C-H?N and C-H?Cl interactions.
