ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(24)H(32)O(5)·C(2)H(4)O(2), is a derivative of abietic acid. The two fused and unbridged cyclo-hexane rings have chair conformations and the anhydride ring is planar. Of the other three six-membered rings, two have boat conformations and one has a twist-boat conformation. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:Cytenamide forms a 1:1 solvate with trifluoro-acetic acid (systematic name: 5H-dibenzo[a,d]cyclo-hepta-triene-5-carboxamide trifluoro-acetic acid solvate), C(16)H(13)NO·C(2)HF(3)O(2). The compound crystallizes with one mol-ecule of cytenamide and one of trifluoro-acetic acid in the asymmetric unit; these are linked by O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds to form an R(2) (2)(8) motif. The trifluoro-methyl group of the solvent mol-ecule displays rotational disorder over two sites, with site-occupancy factors of 0.964?(4) and 0.036?(4).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Fe(3)(CH(3)COO)(6)O(H(2)O)(3)]NO(3)·CH(3)COOH, consists of a hexa-μ(2)-acetato-triaqua-μ(3)-oxo-triiron(III) macrocation, a nitrate ion and an acetic acid solvent mol-ecule. In the cation, each Fe(3+) ion is coordinated by four carboxyl-ate O atoms, one central bridged O atom and one water mol-ecule, resulting in distorted FeO(6) octa-hedra. A network of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds helps to establish the packing.

In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonding links one 1,5-benzodiazepine mol-ecule and one acetic acid solvent mol-ecule into a dimer. These dimers, related by translation along the b axis, are further linked into chains via weak inter-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

Each of the six acetate carboxyl-ate groups bridges a Cr-O-Cr fragment. The cluster cation inter-acts with the nitrate counter-ion and solvent mol-ecules through O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded network.

Project description:The title compound, C31H48O7·0.04CH3COOH, is a polyoxy-genated steroid obtained by selective chemical oxidation of 7-de-hydro-cholesteryl acetate. The asymmetric unit comprises three mol-ecules of the steroid (Z' = 3) and a mol-ecule of acetic acid which has occupancy factor 0.131?(5). The geometric parameters of the independent mol-ecules do not reveal significant differences. In one mol-ecule, the terminal isopropyl group is disordered over two sets of sites with occupancy ratio 0.869?(5):0.131?(5). The three mol-ecules reveal different hydrogen-bonding patterns. Each of them is involved in an intra-molecular S(6) hydrogen-bonding motif, involving hy-droxy groups as donor and acceptor. In the crystal, two independent mol-ecules form dimers through hydrogen bonding between an OH donor and an acetate carbonyl acceptor, giving rise to R 2 (2)(16) ring patterns. A single hydrogen bond between the OH group and a ketone carbonyl group is observed between two symmetry-independent mol-ecules.
