Bis(2,2'-bipyridyl-?N,N')(nitrato-?O,O')(trifluoro-acetato-?O)cadmium(II).

ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Cd(C(2)F(3)O(2))(NO(3))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)], the Cd(II) ion is hepta-coordinated by two chelating 2,2'-bipyridyl ligands [Cd?N 2.370?(6)-2.416?(6)?Å], one carboxyl-ate O atom [Cd?O 2.290?(6)?Å] from the trifluoro-acetate ligand and two O atoms [Cd?O 2.386?(6), 2.633?(6)?Å] from a chelating nitrate anion. The trifluoro-methyl fragment is rotationally disordered between two orientations in a 0.640?(7):0.360?(7) ratio. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds contribute to the crystal packing stability.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the binuclear title complex, [Cu(2)(C(8)H(7)O(2))(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·2H(2)O, is located on an inversion centre. The Cu atoms are bridged by two O atoms of the monodentate phenyl-acetate groups [Cu-O = 1.9808?(14) and 2.3668?(14)?Å]. The longer of the two bridging Cu-O bonds takes the apical position of the distorted square-pyramidal environment of the Cu atom, which is completed by two N atoms of the chelate 2,2'-bipyridine ligand [Cu-N = 2.0107?(17) and 2.0234?(16)?Å]. The mol-ecules are assembled into stacks along [100] through ?-? inter-actions with inter-planar distances of 3.630?(4) and 3.407?(3)?Å; the resulting stacks are further connected into a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture by O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:In the structure of the title compound, [Cd(C(9)H(7)N(2)O(2)S)(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)], the complex mol-ecules are located on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis and the Cd(II) ion is octa-hedrally coordinated by two chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligands and two O atoms from the carboxyl-ate groups of two 2-(benzimidazol-2-ylsulfan-yl)acetate ligands. The two carboxyl-ate ligands adopt a cis configuration with respect to each other. Within each of these ligands, the imidazole fragments are bent back in a loop towards the acetyl groups, forming intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds, which help to stablilize the mononuclear complex. Adjacent mol-ecules are further linked by weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds, resulting in a chain along the c axis.

Project description:The title compound, [Cd(C(7)H(5)O(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·CH(3)OH, contains one monomeric seven-coordinate cadmium complex and one methanol solvate mol-ecule. The Cd(II) atom is coordinated to two 2,2'-bipyridyl ligands via the N atoms and to two salicylate anions (Hsal(-)) via the carboxyl-ate O atoms, which act as monodentate ligand for the one and bidentate ligand for the second. The Cd(II) atom exhibits a {6 + 1} environment, approximately described as a distorted capped octa-hedron with the apical positions occupied by one of the two N atoms belonging to one bipyridyl ligand and one of the two carboxyl-ate O atoms from the monodentate Hsal(-) ligand. Two intra-molecular six-membered hydrogen-bonded rings are present, generated from inter-actions between the carboxyl-ate and hydr-oxy groups of the salicylate ligands. There is one inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding inter-action involving the methanol solvent mol-ecule and the carboxyl-ate group from the monodentate Hsal(-) ligand. The crystal packing is governed by ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.783?(4)?Å] which occur between bipyridyl ligands, by C-H?O and C-H?? inter-actions and by numerous van der Waals contacts.

The coordination geometry is based on a distorted trigonal-prismatic arrangement of the N(2)S(4) donor set. Supra-molecular chains, aligned along the a-axis direction, are mediated by C-H⋯S inter-actions and these are connected into layers that stack along the c axis via π-π inter-actions [Cg(pyrid-yl)⋯Cg(pyrid-yl) = 3.6587 (13) Å].

Project description:In the title dinuclear ionic complex, [Cd(2)(C(4)H(4)N(2))(H(2)O)(8)][Cd(2)(CH(3)CO(2))(8)(C(4)H(4)N(2))], the cation and anion are disordered equally over a site with symmetry mmm. The Cd(II) ions and the N atoms of the bridging pyrazine ligand lie on the inter-section of two crystallographic mirror planes. The C atoms of the bridging pyrazine ligand lie on one of these mirror planes, and the acetate groups and water mol-ecules lie across the inter-secting mirror planes. Each Cd(II) atom in the cation is five-coordinated by four O atoms from four water mol-ecules and one N atom from the bridging pyrazine ligand, whereas each Cd(II) in the anion is nine-coordinated by four pairs of O atoms from the bidentate acetate ligands and one N atom from the bridging pyrazine ligand. In the crystal structure, each anion is surrounded by eight nearest-neighbour cations and vice versa. The crystal structure is stabilized by ionic inter-actions as well as by C-H⋯O inter-actions.

Project description:In title complex, [Mn(C(2)N(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)], the Mn(II) ion is coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry by six N atoms. Four of the N atoms are from two chelating bipyridine ligands and two are from a pair of cis-coordinated dicyanamide ligands. The dihedral angle formed by the mean planes of the bipyridine rings is 85.93?(14)°. The central N atom of one of the dicyanamide ligands was refined as disordered over two sites with equal occupancies.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(4)N(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2)O(2))]·2H(2)O, a novel tricyano-methanide complex, the Co(II) atom is located on an inversion center and has a distorted octa-hedral coordination with two 2,2'-bipyridyl dioxide (dpdo) mol-ecules and two trans tricyano-methanide (tcm) anions. The equatorial plane is formed by the four O atoms of the two chelating dpdo ligands, with one N atom of each of the two tcm ligands occupying an apical position. There is a disordered solvent water mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit (occupancy ratio 0.63:0.37). These water mol-ecules result in the formation of O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds, building a layer parallel to (100). The layers are linked by C-H?N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, leading to a three-dimensional network.
