ABSTRACT: In the title mononuclear complex, [Ni(C(3)H(2)O(4))(C(15)H(10)N(4))(H(2)O)]·3H(2)O, the metal center is coordinated in a distorted NiN(3)O(3) geometry. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the components into a two-dimensional network. In addition, there are weak ?-? stacking inter-actions between symmetry-related phenanthroline rings, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.6253?(17)?Å.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ni(HCO(2))(2)(C(14)H(12)N(2))(H(2)O)]·H(2)O, contains a mononuclear complex mol-ecule hydrogen bonded to a lattice water mol-ecule. The Ni(II) atom exhibits a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry formed by the N atoms from a 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline ligand, two O atoms of a chelating formate anion, one aqua O atom and one O atom of a coordinating formate anion. The mol-ecules are assembled into chains extending along [100] through by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The supra-molecular chains are further linked into layers parallel to (011) by weak π-π packing inter-actions [centroid-centroid separation = 3.768 (2) Å]. The resulting layers are stacked to meet the requirement of close-packing patterns.

Project description:In the mononuclear title complex, [Ni(C(14)H(6)O(8)S(2))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)], the Ni(II) atom is in a distorted octa-hedral coordination formed by four N atoms from two chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligands and by two O atoms, one from a 9,10-dioxoanthracene-1,5-disulfonate ligand and the other from a water mol-ecule. An intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mononuclear complexes into chains extending parallel to [010]. Furthermore, π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.5696 (6) Å] stabilize the crystal structuure.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(2)HCl(2)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)], the Cu(II) ion has a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The equatorial positions are occupied by two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand [Cu-N = 1.994 (3) and 2.027 (3) Å] and two O atoms from dichloro-acetate ligands and a water mol-ecule [Cu-O = 1.971 (2) and 1.939 (2) Å]. One O atom from another dichloro-acetate ligand occupies the apical positon [Cu-O = 2.152 (3) Å]. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers. The crystal packing also exhibits weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.734 (2) Å] and short inter-molecular Cl⋯Cl contacts [3.306 (2) and 3.278 (2) Å].

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(2)(C(9)H(6)O(4))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], is isostructural with the Zn(II) analogue. Each Ni(II) atom is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by three O atoms from two homophthalate anions, one aqua O atom and two 1,10-phenanthroline N atoms. The two Ni(II) atoms are linked by two bridging homophthalate dianions into a centrosymmetric dinuclear unit. The dinuclear units are linked into one-dimensional ladder-like chains along [100] by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water mol-ecules and one of the O atoms of the carboxyl-atomethyl group.

Project description:The imino-diacetate dianion in the title compound, [Zn(C(4)H(5)NO(4))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]·1.5H(2)O, chelates to the Zn(II) center with its N and two O atoms. The metal atom is also chelated by the N-heterocycle and coordinated by one water molecule, leading to a distorted octahedral environment. The dianion, and coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules inter-act through O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional network. One of the two uncoordinated water mol-ecules has half-site occupancy. The crystal studied was a non-merohedral twin with a 15% twin component.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric dinuclear title complex, [Cu(2)(C(5)H(6)O(4))(2)(C(12)H(18)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the Cu(II) atom displays a dis-torted square-pyramidal coordination environment with the basal plane occupied by two phenanthroline N atoms and two O atoms from different glutarate dianions while a water mol-ecule is located at the apical position. Of the two water H atoms, one is engaged in an intra-molecular hydrogen bond with a free oxygen of the dianion whereas the second is engaged in an inter-molecular hydrogen bond, building a corrugated layer parallel to (100). These layers are further connected through π-π stacking inter-actions involving symmetry-related phenanthroline rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.5599 (17) and 3.5617 (18) Å], building a three dimensionnal network. C-H⋯π inter-actions involving the phenanthroline ring system are also observed.

Project description:In the title dinuclear In(III) compound, [In(2)(SO(4))(3)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, each In(III) cation is coordinated by a 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligand, a water mol-ecule and three sulfate O atoms in a distorted InN(2)O(4) octa-hedral geometry. Three sulfate anions bridge two In(III) cations, forming the dinuclear entities. O-H⋯O and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding is observed in the crystal structure. The crystal structure is further consolidated by π-π stacking between nearly parallel phen ring systems [dihedral angle = 4.2 (4)°], the centroid-centroid distance between benzene rings of adjacent phen ligands being 3.528 (9) Å.

Project description:The Zn atom in the title compound, [Zn(C(7)H(5)O(3))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]·H(2)O, exists in a distorted cis-ZnN(2)O(4) octa-hedral coordination geometry. One of the 4-hydroxy-benzoate anions chelates in a bidentate manner whereas the other is monodentate. The complex mol-ecules are linked through the uncoordinated water mol-ecules into a hydrogen-bonded sheet structure.
