1-(4-tert-Butyl-benz-yl)-3-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxylic acid.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(21)H(22)N(2)O(2), the mean plane of the pyrazole ring makes dihedral angles of 18.80 (12) and 77.13 (5)°, respectively, with the mean planes of the phenyl and tert-butyl-benzyl rings. The carboxylate group is inclined at 8.51 (14)° with respect to the pyrazole ring. The crystal structure displays inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding, generating centrosymmetric dimers.

In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked into chains running parallel to the a axis by inter-molecular C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. The methyl groups of a tert-butyl group are rotationally disordered over two positions with refined site-occupancy factors of 0.636 (4) and 0.364 (4).

Project description:The title compound, C(22)H(24)N(2)OS, has been synthesized as a potent fungicidal agent and its crystal structure determined. In the crystal structure, weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions are observed. The dihedral angles between the planes of the pyrazole and phenyl rings, and between the benzene and pyrazole rings are 54.2 (2) and 25.0 (3)°, respectively. The methyl groups of the tert-butyl group are disordered over two positions; the site occupancies are ca 0.65 and 0.35.

Project description:In the mol-ecule of the title compound, C(10)H(9)N(3)O(2), the pyrazole ring is approximately coplanar with the amino and carboxyl groups. The phenyl group is twisted by 48.13 (3)° relative to this plane. An intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond stabilizes the planar conformation of the mol-ecule. The mol-ecules are linked into two-dimensional sheets by two strong inter-molecular N-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The latter forms the classic carboxylic acid dimer motif.

Ions of the title compound are linked by ??? stacking inter-actions (face-face separation 3.441?Å) and C-H?Br and O-H?Br inter-actions. Intra- and intermolecular C-H?O inter-actions are also present. The C-N bond lengths for the compound [1.329?(3), 1.325?(3), 1.389?(3) and 1.391?(3)?Å] are all shorter than the average single C-N bond length of 1.48?Å, thus showing varying degrees of double-bond character.
