4,4'-Bipyridinium 1,4-phenyl-ene-diacetate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(10)H(10)N(2) (2+)·C(10)H(8)O(4) (2-), has inversion centres located at the geometric centres of the 1,4-phenyl-enediacetate anion and 4,4'-bipyridinium cation. The anions and cations are connected by N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming one-dimensional supra-molecular chains, which inter-act with each other via ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.938?(2)?Å], building a two-dimensional supra-molecular sheet.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title Pb-based coordination polymer, [Pb2(C24H16N2O8)(H2O)2] n , consists of one Pb(II) cation, half of a 4,4'-(1,4-phenyl-ene)bis-(2,6-dimethyl-pyridine-3,5-di-carb-oxyl-ate (L (4-)) ligand and one coordinating water mol-ecule. The centers of the benzene ring of the ligand and the four-membered Pb/O/Pb/O ring are located on centers of inversion. The Pb(II) ion is coordinated in form of a distorted polyhedron by seven O atoms from four separate L (4-) ligands and by one water O atom. The PbO7 polyhedra share O atoms, forming infinite zigzag [PbO4(H2O)] n chains along [100] that are bridged by L (4-) ligands, forming a two-dimensional coordination network parallel to (001). O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the water mol-ecule are observed.

Project description:The title compounds, C24H22O6 (I) and C24H22O6 (II), each crystallize with half a mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The whole mol-ecule of compound (I) is generated by twofold rotation symmetry, the twofold axis bis-ecting the central benzene ring. The whole mol-ecule of compound (II) is generated by inversion symmetry, the central benzene ring being located on an inversion center. In (I), the outer benzene rings are inclined to each other by 59.96 (10)° and by 36.74 (9)° to the central benzene ring. The corresponding dihedral angles in (II) are 0.0 and 89.87 (12)°. In the crystal of (I), mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming ribbons propagating along the [10] direction. In the crystal of (II), mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a supra-molecular framework. The Hirshfeld surface analyses indicate that for both compounds the H⋯H contacts are the most significant, followed by O⋯H/H⋯O and C⋯H/H⋯C contacts.

Project description:In the titile compound, C(18)H(20)Cl(2)N(2)O(2), the piperazine ring adopts a chair conformation. The mol-ecule has a non-crystallographic inversion centre in the middle of the piperazine ring at approximate position (3/4, 1/8, 3/8). There are intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds forming S(6) ring motifs. Inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds generate anti-parallel C(5) chain motifs propagating along the b axis, forming sheets parallel to the bc plane with a first-level graph-set S(6)C(5)R(6) (6)(26).

Project description:The title compound, C(10)H(12)N(2)O(4), is a phenyl dicarbamate with crystallographically imposed inversion symmetry. The dihedral angle between the carbamo-yloxy plane [i.e. the plane of the N-C(O)-O fragment; r.m.s. deviation = 0.002?(3)?Å] and the plane of the aryl ring is 29.2?(1)°. In the crystal, two different centrosymmetric N-H?O hydrogen-bond inter-actions are observed; these are described as R(2) (2)(8) and R(2) (4)(8) in graph-set notation. The rings form an alternating sequence, linking the mol-ecules into a sheet structure parallel to (011).

The central and terminal benzene rings are perpendic-ular to each other. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are connected via C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional polymeric structure. The network is further consolidated by a C-H⋯π inter-action.
