ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(24)H(26)N(4)O(4), is a diaza-crown ether encompassing linked phenylpyrazolyl and benzimidazole units that contribute five atoms to the 16-atom ring. The two planar phenylpyrazolyl and benzimidazole units are aligned at an angle of 66.4?(1)°. The carbonyl O atom of the benzimidazole unit is directed away from the middle of the ring.

Project description:The title compound, [Ru(C(10)H(15))(C(10)H(12)O)][B(C(6)H(5))(4)], crystallizes as discrete (?(5)-penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-dien-yl)Ru(?(6)-4-phenyl-butan-2-one)](+) cations and [BPh(4)](-) anions. In the cation, the non-H atoms of the butan-2-one group are approximately planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.056?Å) and lie nearly perpendicular to the plane of the phenyl ring with a dihedral angle between the two planes of 69.3?(1)°. No significant C-H?O inter-actions are observed between the methyl and phenyl H atoms and the carbonyl O atom.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(13)H(9))(C(28)H(20))], the Co atom is sandwiched between cyclo-penta-dienyl and cyclo-butadienyl rings that are inclined at a dihedral angle of 2.6?(3)°. The four phenyl rings are tilted with respect to the cyclo-butadienyl plane so that the C(4)Ph(4) unit constitutes a four-bladed propeller. The phenyl ring of the phenyl-alkyne substituent is inclined to the cyclo-penta-dienyl ring at an angle of 34.92?(18)°. The crystal structure is stabilized solely by C-H?? inter-actions which generate a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, C24H29NO4, is the product of a Petrenko-Kritchenko condensation of 1,5-bis-(2-formyl-phen-oxy)-3-oxa-pentane, pentan-3-one and methyl-ammonium acetate in ethanol. The mol-ecule has mirror symmetry. The aza-14-crown-3 ether ring adopts a bowl conformation stabilized by a weak intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond. The conformation of the C-O-C-C-O-C-C-O-C polyether chain is t-g+-t-t-g--t (t = trans, 180°; g = gauche, ±60°). The dihedral angle between the benzene rings fused to the aza-14-crown-4-ether moiety is 72.68 (4)°. The piperidinone ring adopts a chair conformation. The nitro-gen atom has a trigonal-pyramidal geometry, the sum of the bond angles being 335.9°. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked by weak C-H⋯O inter-actions, forming zigzag chains propagating along the [100] direction.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Ru(C(10)H(15))(C(13)H(10)O)](C(24)H(20)B), consists of discrete [Cp*Ru(II)benzophenone] cations and tetra-phenyl-borate anions (Cp* = penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-dien-yl). Tethering the Cp*Ru group to one aryl ring of benzophenone results in average values of 1.42?(1) and 1.38?(1)?Å for the C-C bond lengths in the Ru-tethered and untethered phenyl rings, respectively. The dihedral angle between the benzene and phenyl rings of the benzophenone group is 50.5?(1)°.

Project description:The title complex, [Ru(C(10)H(15))(C(10)H(13)NO(2))](C(24)H(20)B)·C(3)H(6)O, is related to the analogous O-methyl complex. The average Ru-C distance to the penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-dienyl (Cp*) group is 2.19 (3) Å, and 2.21 (1) Å to the ortho, meta and para C atoms of the arene ring. The Ru-C(ipso) bond length of 2.272 (3) Å is significantly longer, reflecting movement of the Ru atom away from the C atoms with electronegative substituents attached. The amide H atom in the cation forms an inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond with the carbonyl O atom of the acetone solvent mol-ecule. A C-H⋯O inter-action also occurs.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Ru(C(10)H(15))(C(7)H(9)NO(2)S)]C(24)H(20)B, has been determined as part of our investigation into the structural and biological properties of organometallic Ru(II)-arene-Cp* complex salts of the type [R-PhRuCp*](+)·X(-) (where Cp* is penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-diene). Tethering the RuCp* group to the benzene ring of p-toluene-sulfonamide results in only minor changes to the mol-ecular geometry of the sulfonamide, but, together with crystallization as the [BPh(4)](-) salt, effectively blocks involvement of the sulfonamide group in N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding networks.

Project description:The title compound crystallizes as a chloro-form solvate, C(20)H(23)N(3)O(3)S·CHCl(3), with two crystallographically independent units. The independent units have distinctly different inter-action patterns between the aza-crown macrocycle and the chloro-form solvent mol-ecule. In one of them, the chloro-form mol-ecule forms C-H?N and Cl?H-C hydrogen bonds with the aza-crown macrocycle (as a proton donor and an acceptor, respectively), whereas in the other, one of the chloro-form mol-ecules is bound to the aza-crown macrocycle by an attractive Cl?O [3.080?(3)?Å] inter-action. The aza-crown macrocycles of different units are structurally similar; the aza-14-crown-3-ether ring adopts a bowl conformation with dihedral angles between the planes of the fused benzene rings of 60.7?(1) and 68.0?(1)°. The triazinane-thione ring in both cases has a sofa conformation. The crystal packing is characterized by N-H?S, N-H?O, C-H?Cl and C-H?S hydrogen bonds.
