N'-Diphenyl-methyl-ene-2-hydroxy-benzohydrazide.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(20)H(16)N(2)O(2), was synthesized by the reaction of 2-hydroxy-benzohydrazide with diphenyl-methanone. The dihedral angle between the phenyl rings is 76.28?(11)°. The amino H atom is involved in an intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond. In the crystal structure, the hydr-oxy groups and carbonyl O atoms form inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds, which link the mol-ecules into chains running along the b axis.
