Catena-Poly[[[[3-(2-pyrid-yl)-1H-pyrazole]manganese(II)]-?-oxalato] sesquihydrate].


ABSTRACT: In the title compound, {[Mn(C(2)O(4))(C(8)H(7)N(3))]·1.5H(2)O}(n), the Mn(II) ion is chelated by two O,O'-bidentate oxalate ions and an N,N'-bidentate 3-(2-pyrid-yl)pyrazole mol-ecule, resulting in a distorted cis-MnN(2)O(4) octa-hedral geometry for the metal ion. The bridging oxalate ions generate wave-like polymeric chains propagating in [001]. The packing is consolidated by N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds. One of the water O atoms lies on a crystallographic twofold axis.
