Bis[N'-(3-cyano-benzyl-idene)isonicotino-hydrazide-?N]silver(I) trifluoro-methane-sulfonate.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Ag(C(14)H(10)N(4)O)(2)]CF(3)SO(3), two N atoms from two independent pyridyl rings of two N'-3-cyano-benzyl-ideneisonicotinohydrazide ligands coordinate to the unique Ag(I) ion, forming a nearly linear coordination geometry. Adjacent silver complexes are primarily linked together by Ag?N inter-actions, with Ag?N separations of 2.877?(2) and 3.314?(2)?Å. On the other hand, one CF(3)SO(3) (-) anion inter-acts with hydrazone groups of two neighbouring ligands via N-H?O hydrogen bonds. These weak inter-molecular inter-actions contribute to the formation of supra-molecular chains. In addition, there are Ag?O inter-actions [2.787?(2)?Å] between Ag and O atoms from adjacent chains.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ag(C(14)H(10)N(4)O)(2)]CF(3)CO(2), the Ag(I) ion is coordinated by two N atoms of the pyridine rings of two N'-(3-cyano-benzyl-idene)isonicotinohydrazide ligands in a nearly linear geometry. In the crystal structure, a combination of close contacts formed via Ag?N inter-actions [Ag?N = 3.098?(2) and 3.261?(2)?Å] from symmetry-related mol-ecules and inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds between CF(3)CO(2) (-) anions and the hydrazone groups of two ligands give rise to chains. Furthermore, there are Ag?O inter-actions with a separation of 2.765?(2)?Å between chains. The F atoms of the CF(3)CO(2) (-) anion are disordered over two sites with refined occupancies of 0.593?(5) and 0.407?(5).

Project description:In the title compound, {[Ag(C(14)H(10)N(4)O)(2)]CF(3)SO(3)}(n), the unique Ag(I) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from two pyridine rings of two independent N'-(4-cyano-benzyl-idene)nicotinohydrazide ligands and one N atom of a carbonitrile group of a symmetry-related N'-(4-cyano-benzyl-idene)nicotino-hydrazide ligand, forming a distorted T-shaped coordination environment. One of the independent ligands acts as a bridge connecting Ag(I) ions, forming chains along the a axis. In the crystal structure, two neighbouring anti-parallel chains are connected through N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. In addition, there are relatively short Ag⋯O contacts of 2.723 (3) Å, which connect the chains into a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:The title salt, [Pd(C(6)H(4)N(2))(4)](CF(3)SO(3))(2), comprises Pd(4-cyano-pyridine)(4) dications balanced by two trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anions. The Pd(II) atom lies in a square-planar geometry defined by four N atoms which form equivalent Pd-N inter-actions. The 4-cyano-pyridine ligands are twisted out of the N(4) plane, forming dihedral angles ranging from 66.5?(2) to 89.9?(2)°. In the crystal packing, columns of edge-to-edge dications define channels in which reside the anions. A range of C-H?N and C-H?O hydrogen-bonding interactions stabilizes the crystal packing.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(21)H(18)N(+)·CF(3)OS(3) (-), the cations form inversion dimers through π-π inter-actions between the acridine ring systems. These dimers are further linked by C-H⋯π inter-actions. The cations and anions are connected by C-H⋯O, C-F⋯π and S-O⋯π inter-actions. The acridine and benzene ring systems are oriented at a dihedral angle of 76.8 (1)°with respect to each other. Project description:The title complex, [Ag(2)(C(25)H(22)P(2))(2)(C(9)H(7)N)(2)](CF(3)SO(3))(2)·C(9)H(7)N, was prepared by the reaction of silver(I) trifluoro-methane-sulfonate with isoquinoline and bis-(diphenyl-phosphan-yl)methane (dppm). The dinuclear mol-ecule is located about a center of inversion and the Ag(I) atom is coordinated by two dppm P atoms and one isoquinoline N atom, forming an eight-membered metalla ring. In addition, in the asymmetric unit, there is a half-mol-ecule of isoquinoline located about a center of inversion. Since this mol-ecule does not possess this symmetry, for one position in the ring there is superposition of both a C atom of a C-H group and the isoquinoline N atom. In the structure, the Ag-P distances [2.4296 (9) and 2.4368 (9) Å] agree with the corresponding distances in related structures, while the Ag-N bond length [2.489 (3) Å] is slightly longer than that in related structures. On the other hand, the P-Ag-P angle [156.44 (3)°] is much larger than the corresponding angles in related structures. The trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anions do not coordinate to Ag(I) atoms. As is usually found for these anions, the -CF(3) group is disordered over two orientations [occupancies = 0.57 (12) and 0.43 (12)].

The shortest Ag?Ag separation in a cationic chain is 8.841?(2)?Å and the dihedral angle between two 2-phenyl-diazenyl-imidazole planes in the same ligand is 74.7?(3)°. Weak C-H?O interactions are seen in the crystal.
