Poly[[diaquadi-?-dicyanamido-nickel(II)] bis-(pyridinium-4-olate)].

ABSTRACT: The title compound, {[Ni(C(2)N(3))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2C(5)H(5)NO}(n), is a centrosymmetric two-dimensional coordination polymer with a layer (4,4) network structure. The asymmetric unit is compossed of an Ni(II) atom, which sits on an inversion center, a ?-1,5-bridging dicyanamide anion, a water mol-ecule, and a free 4-hydroxy-pyridine mol-ecule present in the zwitterionic pyridinium-4-olate form. The Ni(II) atom is coordinated in a slightly distorted N(4)O(2) octa-hedral geometry by four bridging dicyanamide ligands and two trans water mol-ecules. In the crystal, the two-dimensional networks are linked via N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title polymeric mononuclear Cu(II) complex, [Cu(C2N3)2(NH3)2] n , contains one half-mol-ecule, the complex being completed through inversion symmetry, with the Cu(II) atom situated on the centre of symmetry. The coordination polyhedron around Cu(II) is a Jahn-Teller-distorted [CuN6] octa-hedron. The terminal N atoms of two dicyanamide ligands and two ammine ligands form an approximate square plane, with N-Cu-N bite angles of 89.72?(5) and 90.28?(5)°. The coordination polyhedron is completed in the axial positions by the central amide-type N atoms of two additional dicyanamide ligands, with an elongated Cu-N distance of 2.548?(1)?Å. In turn, each of the four dicyanamide ligands, acting as bidentate, link the Cu(II) ions into a two-dimensional polymeric structure parallel to (100). Project description:Single crystals of the title organic-inorganic hybrid, {(C(5)H(7)N(2))(2)[MnCl(2)(H(2)O)(2)]Cl(2)}(n), were synthesized from an ethanol solution containing manganese(II) chloride tetra-hydrate and 4-amino-pyridine under acidic conditions. The asymmetric unit contains a disordered organic cation (occupancies in the ratio 0.72:0.28), a chloride anion and an MnCl(H(2)O) moiety with the Mn(II) atom located on an inversion center. The structure is built up of infinite chains of edge-sharing [MnCl(4)(H(2)O)(2)] octa-hedra developing parallel to the a axis which are separated by the 4-amino-pyridinium ions and discrete chloride ions. The organic cations occupy the empty space around each inorganic chain. Structural cohesion is organized through N-H?Cl and O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, which build up a three-dimensional network.
