ABSTRACT: The mol-ecular skeleton of the title mol-ecule, C(11)H(9)NO(3), is approximately planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0056?Å); the two rings form a dihedral angle of 6.5?(1)°. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds involving the H atom of the hydr-oxy group and the N atom of the isoxazole ring link mol-ecules into chains running along the c axis.

This planarity is also assisted by an intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bond between the phenyl ring and the carbonyl O atom. In the crystal, weak C-H?O inter-actions generate a layered structure parallel to the ac plane.

Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(14)N(2)O(2), an isoxazol-5-one derivative, was synthesized by a one-pot, three-component condensation reaction of methyl acetoacetate, hydroxy-lamine hydro-chloride and 4-(dimethyl-amino)benzaldehyde. All the non-H atoms are co-planar [r.m.s deviation = 0.0039?Å], with a Z configuration about the C=C bond. The dihedral angle between the phenyl ring and the isoxazole ring is 2.58?(19)°.

Project description:In the title compound, C(17)H(14)N(2)O(2), the asymmetric unit comprises two mol-ecules that are comformationally similar [the dihedral angles between the phenyl rings in each are 46.35 (2) and 48.04 (3)°], with the conformation stabilized by intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, which generate S(7) rings. In the crystal, inversion-related mol-ecules are linked by pairs of weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming dimers with an R(2) (2)(16) graph-set motif. Project description:In the asymmetric unit of the title hydrazone compound, C(15)H(10)Br(2)N(2)O(4), there are two independent mol-ecules. In each mol-ecule, the five-membered ring adopts a flattened envelope conformation; the flap atoms are displaced by 0.114?(2) and 0.219?(2)?Å from the planes of the other four atoms. In one mol-ecule the dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 22.8?(2)°, while in the other it is 40.8?(2)°. Each mol-ecule displays an E configuration with respect to the C=N bond.
