ABSTRACT: The title mol-ecule, C(16)H(11)NO(2), is disordered about a pseudo-twofold rotation axis that approximately bis-ects the mol-ecule along the C=O double bond. The two overlapping components are planar [r.m.s. deviation = 0.10?Å in the major 0.537?(4) component and 0.07?Å in the minor component]. The two components are aligned at 1.8?(3)°.

Project description:In the title compound, C(17)H(13)NO(2), the benzene ring is twisted slightly out of the plane of the oxazole ring to which it is attached [dihedral angle = 7.98 (8)°]. Similarly, there is a twist [dihedral angle = 5.50 (8)°] between the oxazole and phenyl rings that are linked via the C=C bond [1.348 (2) Å]; the conformation about the latter is Z. In the crystal, the presence of C-H⋯O, C-H⋯π and π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.5259 (9) Å] link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional architecture.

Project description:The title compound, C(19)H(17)NO(5), was synthesized as part of a continuing project involving the structures of oxazolone derivatives. The mol-ecule adopts a Z configuration about the central olefinic bond. The 2-phenyl ring is slightly twisted out of the plane of the oxazolone ring system by 11.2 (2)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(17)H(13)NO(3), adopts a Z configuration about the central olefinic bond. The 2-phenyl ring is almost coplanar with the plane of the oxazolone ring system, making a dihedral angle of 2.03 (11)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by π-π inter-actions between the oxazolone ring and phenyl ring of a neighbouring mol-ecule [centroid-centroid distance = 3.550 (3)Å], and by two weak inter-molecular C-H⋯π inter-actions. In addition, the crystal structure exhibits one weak intra-molecular C-H⋯N hydrogen bond.

The benzyl-idene substituent is coplanar with this ring [dihedral angle between the planes = 1.8?(1)° in the first mol-ecule and 2.8?(1)° in the second], as is the phenyl substitutent [dihedral angle between rings = 4.6?(1) and 9.7?(1)°, respectively].

A second ortho-rhom-bic polymorph of 3,5-diphenyl-4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-amine.

Project description:The present crystal structure is the second ortho-rhom-bic polymorph of the title compound, C(14)H(12)N(4). Whereas the structure in Pnma with Z' = 0.5 is already known [Ikemi et al. (2002 ▶). Heterocycl. Commun.8, 439-442], the present structure crystallizes in the space group Pbca with Z' = 1. The dihedral angle between the two phenyl rings is 23.5 (4)° and the dihedral angles between central ring and the phenyl rings are 41.0 (3) and 26.3 (5)°. In the 4-amino-1,2,4-trizole fragment, the C=N distances are 1.321 (3) and 1.315 (3) Å, which are much shorter than the C-N distances of 1.367 (3) and 1.357 (3) Å. In the crystal, adjacent mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

Two ortho-rhom-bic polymorphs of hydro-morphone.

Project description:Conditions to obtain two polymorphic forms by crystallization from solution were determined for the analgesic drug hydro-morphone [C17H19NO3; systematic name: (4R,4aR,7aR,12bS)-9-hy-droxy-3-methyl-1,2,4,4a,5,6,7a,13-octa-hydro-4,12-methano-benzofuro[3,2-e]iso-quinolin-7-one]. These two crystalline forms, designated as I and II, belong to the P212121 ortho-rhom-bic space group. In both polymorphs, the hydro-morphone mol-ecules adopt very similar conformations with some small differences observed only in the N-methyl amine part of the mol-ecule. The crystal structures of both polymorphs feature chains of mol-ecules connected by hydrogen bonds; however, in form I this inter-action occurs between the hydroxyl group and the tertiary amine N atom whereas in form II the hydroxyl group acts as a donor of a hydrogen bond to the O atom from the cyclic ether part.

Project description:The title compound, C(25)H(20)N(4), is a disubstituted methane derivative having two pyridyl-methyl-ene-amino-phenyl arms, one of which is essentially rigid as all atoms lie on a plane (r.m.s. deviation = 0.074 Å), whereas the other is twisted [dihedral angle between the phenyl-ene and pyridyl rings = 51.1 (4)°]. The angle at the methyl-ene C atom is 113.2 (2)°.

The benzothia-zole ring system and the benzene ring form a dihedral angle of 8.9?(3)?Å. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming chains along the b axis. Acta Cryst. E69, o452] crystallizes in the space group P21/c (Z = 4). In the crystal, two independent HN-H?N C hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into chains along the a-glide plane. Two further independent HN-H?NH2 hydrogen bonds join the chains, forming a three-dimensional network.
