ABSTRACT: The main structural unit of the title compoud, C(21)H(18)O(6), is a fused three-ring group consisting of coumarin and tetra-hydro-pyrane ring systems. Two C atoms of the tetra-hydro-pyran ring are displaced by 0.295?(3) and -0.360?(2)?Å from the mean plane of coumarin ring. The dihedral angle between the phenyl and coumarin rings is 73.94?(3)°. Inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds are present in the crystal structure.

Project description:The title compound, C(21)H(17)ClO(6), is optically pure and adopts an R configuration. It was obtained by an organocatalytic asymmetric Michael addition of 4-hydroxy-coumarin with (E)-ethyl 4-(4-chloro-phen-yl)-2-oxobut-3-enoate. The structure consists of a tetra-hydro-pyran unit fused to the coumarin ring ring system. The hydroxyl and phenyl groups are on the same side of the tetra-hydro-pyrane ring. The benzene ring is almost perpendicular to the coumarin ring [dihedral angle of 72.89?(3)°]. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds are observed. An intra-molecular O-H?O contact also occurs.

An intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond involving the amino group occurs in each independent mol-ecule. In the crystal, the amino groups are involved in N-H?O and N-H?N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The crystal structures of two chromone derivatives, viz. ethyl 6-(4-methyl-phen-yl)-4-oxo-4H-chromene-2-carboxyl-ate, C19H16O4, (1), and ethyl 6-(4-fluoro-phen-yl)-4-oxo-4H-chromene-2-carboxyl-ate C18H13FO4, (2), have been determined: (1) crystallizes with two mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. A comparison of the dihedral angles beween the mean planes of the central chromone core with those of the substituents, an ethyl ester moiety at the 2-position and a para-substituted phenyl ring at the 6-position shows that each mol-ecule differs significantly from the others, even the two independent mol-ecules (a and b) of (1). In all three mol-ecules, the carbonyl groups of the chromone and the carboxyl-ate are trans-related. The supra-molecular structure of (1) involves only weak C-H?? inter-actions between H atoms of the substituent phenyl group and the phenyl group, which link mol-ecules into a chain of alternating mol-ecules a and b, and weak ?-? stacking inter-actions between the chromone units. The packing in (2) involves C-H?O inter-actions, which form a network of two inter-secting ladders involving the carbonyl atom of the carboxyl-ate group as the acceptor for H atoms at the 7-position of the chromone ring and from an ortho-H atom of the exocyclic benzene ring. The carbonyl atom of the chromone acts as an acceptor from a meta-H atom of the exocyclic benzene ring. ?-? inter-actions stack the mol-ecules by unit translation along the a axis.

Project description:The title compound, C(20)H(21)NO(7), is asymmetric with a chiral centre located in the pyran ring and crystallizes as a racemate. The mol-ecular framework is somewhat bent; the coumarin moiety and the pyran ring are inclined by 7.85?(5)°. The mol-ecular structure is characterized by an intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond, which generates an S(6) ring motif, and the crystal packing is stabilized by inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The 3-carboxyl-ate O atom is involved in both of them, having a bifurcated character.

Project description:In the title compound, C20H18O7, the dioxolane ring adopts an envelope conformation with the dimethyl-substituted C atom as the flap, and its mean plane makes a dihedral angle of 73.25?(2)° with the pyran ring mean plane. The furan ring makes dihedral angles of 67.43?(12) and 6.20?(11)° with the mean plane of the dioxolane and pyran rings, respectively. The O atom attached to the pyran ring deviates by 0.0219?(2)?Å from its mean plane. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming chains along [010] and enclosing R 2 (2)(9) loops. They stack along the a axis with ?-? inter-actions involving the 4H-chromene units [centroid-centroid distances of 3.6389?(13) and 3.6555?(13)?Å]. The terminal CH2=CH- atoms of the allyl acetate group are disordered over two sets of sites with a refined occupancy ratio of 0.717?(6):0.283?(6).

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(14)H(14)O(4), lies on a twofold rotation axis that bis-ects the central benzene ring, with only one half-mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The pyran-one systems adopt distorted twist- boat conformations, with the two methyl-ene C atoms displaced by 0.537 (1) and 0.163 (2) Å from the best-fit plane through the remaining five C and O atoms (r.m.s. deviation = 0.073 Å). In the crystal, bifurcated C-H⋯(O,O) hydrogen bonds link pairs of adjacent mol-ecules in an obverse fashion, stacking mol-ecules along c. These contacts are further stabilized by very weak π-π inter-actions between adjacent benzene rings with centroid-centroid distances of 4.1951 (4) Å. Additional C-H⋯O contacts link these stacks, giving a three-dimensional network.

The mean plane of the ester group and that of the four essentially planar (maximum deviation 0.0112?Å) C atoms of the chair-form cyclo-hexyl ring form dihedral angles of 43.8?(3) ° and 81.8?(1)°, respectively, with the mean plane of the coumarin ring system. In the crystal structure, weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds connect the mol-ecules into a two-dimensional network.
