Aqua-(2,2'-bipyrimidine-κN,N')(succin-ato-κO,O)copper(II) dihydrate.

ABSTRACT: In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(C(4)H(4)O(4))(C(8)H(6)N(4))(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O, the Cu(II) atom is chelated by a 2,2'-bipyrimidine (bpm) ligand and a succinate anion in the basal plane; a water mol-ecule in the apical position completes the slightly distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. Another carboxyl-ate O atom from an adjacent complex is located in the opposite apical direction, with a Cu⋯O distance of 2.706 (3) Å, and is not considered as a bridging atom. Extensive O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [MnI(C(8)H(6)N(4))(2)(H(2)O)]I·2H(2)O, contains a cationic Mn(II) complex, an I(-) anion and two solvent water mol-ecules. In the complex, the Mn(II) ion is six-coordinated in a considerably distorted octa-hedral environment defined by four N atoms of the two chelating 2,2'-bipyrimidine (bpym) ligands, one I(-) anion and one O atom of a water ligand. As a result of the different trans effects of the I and O atoms, the Mn-N bond trans to the I atom is slightly longer than the Mn-N bond trans to the O atom. The dihedral angle between the least-squares planes of the two bpym ligands [maximum deviation = 0.088 (4) Å] is 76.48 (6)°. In the crystal, the complex cation, the anion and the solvent water mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular O-H⋯O, O-H⋯I and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mn(CH(3)CN)(C(8)H(6)N(4))(2)(H(2)O)][Mn(C(8)H(6)N(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(4)·2H(2)O, contains two distinct cationic Mn(II) complexes, four perchlorate anions and two solvent water mol-ecules. In the two complexes, both Mn(II) ions are six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral environment, but one Mn ion has a cis-N(5)O coordination geometry defined by four N atoms of the two chelating 2,2'-bipyrimidine (bpym) ligands, one N atom of a coordinating acetonitrile mol-ecule and one O atom of a water ligand, whereas the other Mn ion has a cis-N(4)O(2) coordination geometry defined by four N atoms of the two bpym ligands and two O atoms of water ligands. In the crystal structure, the complex mol-ecules, anions and solvent water mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. Three of the four perchlorate anions are disordered over two sets of sites in different ratios.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(5)H(3)O(2)S)(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)], the Cu(II) atom is in a distorted square-pyramidal environment, with an Addison τ parameter of 0.07. The coordination geometry is defined by two nitro-gen donors from the 2,2'-bipyridine ligand, two O atoms from two monodentate thio-phene-2-carboxyl-ate ligands and one O atom from the aqua ligand. The latter occupies the elongated apical position. This is different from the related structure of aqua-(1,10-phenanthroline)bis-(thio-phene-2-carboxyl-ato)copper(II) where a carboxyl-ate O atom is in the apical position [Feng et al. (2005 ▶). Z. Kristallogr. New Cryst. Struct.220, 429-430]. The uncoordinated carboxyl-ate O atoms form intra- and inter-molecular hydrogen bonds to the aqua ligand. Two neighbouring 2,2'-bipyridine ligands form a π-stack, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.683 (2) Å.

Project description:Two 3-nitro-phthalate dianions bridge two water-coordinated 2,2'-bipyridine-chelated Cu(II) atoms about a center of inversion to generate the title dinuclear compound, [Cu(2)(C(8)H(3)NO(6))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O. The geometry of the Cu(II) atom is a distorted square pyramid. Adjacent mol-ecules are linked through the coordinated and solvent water mol-ecules to form a linear ribbon running along the a axis of the monoclinic unit cell.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Cu(C(12)H(6)O(4))(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O}(n), the Cu(II) cation is coordinated by two naphthalene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate (naph) dianions, two imidazole mol-ecules and one water mol-ecule in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The Cu-O bond distance in the apical direction is 0.509 (3) Å longer than the mean Cu-O bond distance in the basal plane. The naph dianion bridges two Cu(II) cations, forming a one-dimensional polymeric chain. The coordinated water mol-ecule is hydrogen-bonded to the carboxylate groups and imidazole ligands of adjacent polymeric chains, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure. No π-π stacking is observed in the crystal structure. One solvent water molecule is disordered equally over two positions.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(12)H(6)N(2)O(4))(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O, obtained from a basic solution of 2,2'-bipyridine-5,5'-dicarboxyl-ate and nickel(II) chloride in water, the central Ni(II) cation (site symmetry 2) is coordinated by two N atoms from the 2,2'-bipyridine-5,5'-dicarboxyl-ate ligand and four aqua O atoms. The N-Ni-N angle is 78.64 (8)°. Weak but significant π-π stacking inter-actions exist between the pyridine rings with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.652 (8) Å. In addition, four O atoms of the two carboxyl groups form hydrogen bonds with both coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules, forming an infinite three-dimensional network.

Besides two pyridine-2,5-dicarboxyl-ate anions, one bidentate 2,2'-bipyridine and one water mol-ecule coordinate to the Co cation, completing a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. Within the dinuclear mol-ecule, π-π stacking occurs between parallel pyridine rings with centroid-centroid distances of 3.802 (2) Å. The crystal structure contains extensive O-H⋯O and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-H⋯π inter-actions.

Project description:The hydro-thermal reaction of Ni(2)(OH)(2)CO(3) with 2,2'-bipyridine and 2-indolyl-formic acid in CH(3)OH/H(2)O at 423 K for 7 d produced the novel Ni(II) complex [Ni(C(9)H(6)NO(2))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)](C(9)H(6)NO(2))·2H(2)O. The asymmetric unit of the title compound consists of a monovalent [Ni(L)(bpy)(2)(H(2)O)](+) cation (bpy is 2,2'-bipyridine and L is 1H-indole-2-carboxyl-ate), an L anion and two solvent water mol-ecules. In the [Ni(L)(bpy)(2)(H(2)O)](+) cations, the Ni atom coordinates to four N atoms from the two bpy ligands and two O atoms, one from a L anion and the other from a water mol-ecule to complete an significantly distorted NiN(4)O(2) octa-hedron. The coordinated and solvate water mol-ecules form an extensive series of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are also present and the mol-ecules are inter-linked, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(C(7)H(5)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(12)N(2))(H(2)O)], the Cu(II) ion is penta-coordinated in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry by two O atoms of two benzoate anions and two N atoms of a 5,5'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine ligand occupying the basal plane, and a water O atom located at the apical site. In the crystal structure, O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a supra-molecular structure. The crystal studied was a racemic twin, as suggested by the Flack parameter of 0.584 (14).

Project description:The Cu(II) atom in the title compound, [Cu(C(7)H(4)IO(2))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)], is N,N'-chelated by a 2,2'-bipyridine ligand and is coordinated by two monodentate carboxyl-ate ions and a water mol-ecule in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The apical site is occupied by one of the carboxyl-ate O atoms. The water mol-ecule forms intra-molecular hydrogen bonds to the uncoordinated carboxyl O atoms. The crystal studied was a nonmerohedral twin with minor components in 0.381 (3) and 0.108 (2) proportions.
