ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Zn(C(4)H(3)N(6))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the metal centre lies on an inversion centre and displays a distorted octa-hedral ZnN(4)O(2) coordination geometry. The organic ligand is not planar; the dihedral angle between the imidazole and tetra-zole rings is 8.39?(9)°. An extended network of inter-molecular N-H?N and O-H?N hydrogen bonds stabilizes the crystal structure.

Project description:The title complex, [Mn(C(7)H(6)N(5))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], was obtained by the in situ hydro-thermal reaction of MnCl(2) with 2-(2-pyrid-yl)acetonitrile in the presence of NaN(3). The Mn(II) atom, which is located on an inversion centre, has a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry formed by two water mol-ecules and two chelating ligands. Inter-molecular hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions (3.452 Å) stabilize the crystal structure and lead to the formation of a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The Zn(II) ion in the title compound, [Zn(C(15)H(14)N(10))(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(2), lies on a centre of symmetry. The distorted N(4)O(2) octa-hedral coordination environment around the Zn atom is composed of two 1,3-bis-[5-(2-pyrid-yl)-2H-tetra-zol-2-yl]propane ligands (L1) and two water mol-ecules, coordinated in trans positions. The ligand acts as a typical bidentate chelating ligand through one of its 2-pyridyl-2H-tetra-zole units, forming a five-membered Zn-N-C-C-N metallacycle with a small N-Zn-N bite angle [77.40 (8)°]. The other 2-pyridyl-2H-tetra-zole unit remains uncoordinated. The average Zn-N distance (2.156 Å) is somewhat longer than the distance between the Zn(II) center and the aqua ligand [2.108 (2) Å]. The coordinated pyrid-yl-tetra-zoyl rings are quasi-coplanar, making a dihedral angle of 1.9 (2)°, while the uncoordinated rings show a larger inter-planar angle of 21.3 (2)°. The flexible propane spacer displays a zigzag chain. Inter-molecular O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O inter-actions result in two-dimensional polymeric structures parallel to (100). Two C atoms of the spacer are disordered over two positions, with site occupancy factors of ca 0.85 and 0.15.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(6)H(4)N(5))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the Co atom is bonded to two water mol-ecules and two bidentate 5-(2-pyrid-yl)tetra-zolate ligands resulting in a slightly distorted octa-hedral CoN(4)O(2) coordination geometry. The Co(II) cation is situated on a crystallographic center of inversion. The asymmetric unit therefore comprises one-half of the mol-ecule. The four N atoms belonging to two bidentate 5-(2-pyrid-yl)tetra-zolate ligands lie in the equatorial plane and the two associated water mol-ecules are observed in the axial coordination sites. Project description:The title coordination polymer, [Zn(C(8)H(4)N(4)O(2))(H(2)O)](n), was prepared by the hydro-thermal reaction of zinc nitrate and 2-(1H-tetra-zol-5-yl)benzoic acid. Two types of coordinated zinc cations exist in the structure. One is tetra-hedrally coordinated by two O and two N from two ligands, the other is octa-hedrally coordinated by two N and two O from two ligands at equatorial sites and by two O atoms of water mol-ecules at axial sites, resulting in a two-dimensional framework. The crystal structure is stabilized by intra-molecular O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds.

The complete solid-state structure can be described as a three-dimensional supra-molecular framework, stabilized by extensive hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involving the coordinated water mol-ecules, uncoordin-ated imidazole N atom, protonated pyridine N and carboxyl-ate O atoms of the H(2)PIDC(-) ligands.
