Project description:The title complex, [Cd(C(14)H(11)N(2)O(4))(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(2)], exhibits crystallographic twofold symmetry. The Cd(II) atom is located on the twofold rotation axis and reveals a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination defined by four atoms (N(2)O(2)) from two symmetry-related chelate ligands and two pyridine N atoms. Intra-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds stabilize the mol-ecular conformation while inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonding links mol-ecules into a triad, generating a helix along the threefold screw axis.

Project description:The title compound, C(18)H(17)NO(4), crystallizes with two indepen-dent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The pyrrolidine ring in one mol-ecule is disordered over two positions, with refined site-occupancy factors of 0.853 (5) and 0.147 (5). The dihedral angles between the planes of the benzene rings in the two independent mol-ecules are 56.8 (2) and 68.2 (5)°. The mol-ecular conformations are stabilized by intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The latter is located on a centre of inversion. Intra-molecular N-H⋯O inter-actions stabilize the conformations of both mol-ecules. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, C(27)H(47)NO(3), is a (3-hydroxy-prop-yl)amide derivative of naturally occurring enanti-opure lithocholic acid (3?-hydr-oxy-5?-cholan-24-oic acid). The mol-ecule contains four fused rings: three six-membered rings in chair conformations and one five-membered ring in a half-chair form. The two terminal six-membered rings are cis-fused, while other rings are trans-fused. The structure contains an intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond and a similar hydrogen-bond framework to the corresponding deoxy-cholic and chenodeoxy-cholic acid derivatives. Inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O inter-actions are also present in the crystal. This compound seems to have at least two polymorphic forms from a comparison of the X-ray powder pattern simulated from the present structure of the title compound and that previously obtained for the powder sample.

In the two ordered mol-ecules, the furan and naphthalene rings are oriented at dihedral angles of 11.05?(12) and 32.2?(5)°. In the disordered mol-ecule, the furan rings with major and minor occupancies are oriented at dihedral angles of 41.4?(2) and 26.6?(13)°, respectively, with the corresponding naphthalene ring. An intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond occurs within each mol-ecule. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H?O, N-H?(N,O) and C-H?O inter-actions.
