ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(25)H(18)NO, a stable phenanthridinic nitroxide, the ring containing the nitroxide function assumes a twist-boat conformation and the dihedral angle formed by adjacent benzene rings is 21.78?(5)°. The phenyl substituents at position 2 are approximately orthogonal to each other, forming a dihedral angle of 81.04?(4)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by an intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bond and by C-H?? inter-actions.

Project description:In the title mol-ecule, C(27)H(20)N(2)O, a triphenyl-amine derivative of quinoline, the three benzene rings linked through an N atom form a propeller shape, with dihedral angles between the mean planes of pairs of rings of 75.57 (9), 55.68 (9) and 83.66 (9)°. The quinoline ring is essentially planar, with an r.m.s. deviation of the fitted atoms of 0.0155 Å, and forms a dihedral angle of 33.52 (8)° with the benzene ring to which it is bonded. Weak C-H⋯π inter-actions are also observed in the crystal structure.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, C(15)H(14)N(4), contains chains of coplanar tetra-zole rings with the chain direction along b. These are formed through weak hydrogen bonds, donated by the tetra-zole H atoms and by one of the H atoms of the methyl-ene group, and accepted by two neighbouring N atoms of the adjacent tetra-zole ring. The chains are connected to each other in a staircase-like manner via weak hydrogen bonds, donated from the second H atom of the methyl-ene group and accepted by the N atom next to the C atom in the tetra-zole ring. In one mol-ecule, the chlorinated benzene ring forms dihedral angles of 12.00 (9) and 77.04 (9)° with the phenyl rings. The dihedral angle between the phenyl rings is 80.37 (10)°. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(22)H(21)NO, consists of two crystallographically independent mol-ecules (A and B). Each mol-ecule contains two benzene rings and one dimethyl-benzene ring. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 87.75 (16)° in mol-ecule A and 89.25 (16)° in mol-ecule B. In mol-ecule A, the dimethyl-benzene ring forms dihedral angles of 89.65 (8) and 42.98 (11)° with the two benzene rings, whereas the corresponding angles are equal to 63.15 (7) and 58.67 (10)° in mol-ecule B. An intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring motif in each mol-ecule. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by bifurcated (N,C)-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating R(2) (1)(6) ring motifs and forming infinite chains along the a axis. The crystal is further stabilized by C-H⋯π and π-π inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.8543 (18) and 3.930 (2) Å.
