ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(10)H(9)NO(6), the carb-oxy, ethoxy-carbonyl and nitro groups form dihedral angles of 3.8 (1), 4.5 (1) and 164.8 (1)°, respectively, with the mean plane of the benzene ring. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules lying about inversion centers are linked through O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. C-H⋯O inter-actions are also present.

Project description:The anions of the title salt, NH(4) (+)·HO(2)CC(6)H(4)-O-C(6)H(4)CO(2) (-), are linked by inter-molecular -CO(2)H?O(2)C- hydrogen bonds, forming a polyanionic chain in the crystal; adjacent chains are connected through the ammonium cation into a layer structure, with the ammonium cation serving as hydrogen-bond donor to four carboxyl-ate O atoms. The cation and anion both lie on special positions of 2 site symmetry. In the anion, the rings make a dihedral angle of 65.3?(1)°. The acid H atom is disordered about the special position.

Project description:The title hydrated salt, C6H6NO2 (+)·C10H5O8 (-)·H2O, was isolated from the 1:1 cocrystallization of benzene-1,2,4,5-tetra-carb-oxy-lic acid and isonicotinic acid in ethanol solution. In the crystal, the cation is close to planar [r.m.s. deviation = 0.085 Å for the nine fitted atoms; the C-C-C-O(carbon-yl) torsion angle = -8.7 (4)°], but twists are evident in the anion, with all but the carb-oxy-lic acid group diagonally opposite the carboxyl-ate group being significantly twisted out of the plane of the benzene ring [C-C-C-O(carbon-yl) torsion angles = -118.1 (2), -157.6 (2), 4.3 (3) and 77.3 (3)°]. In the crystal, the ions and water mol-ecules are consolidated into a three-dimensional architecture by O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding along with C-H⋯O inter-actions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title organic salt, C(2)H(8)N(+)·C(8)H(5)O(4) (-), consists of two dimethyl-ammonium cations and two 3-carb-oxy-benzoate anions. The 3-carb-oxy-benzoate anions are linked via strong inter-molecular and nearly symmetrical O-H?O hydrogen bonds forming infinite chains parallel to [111]. Neighbouring chains are further connected by the dimethyl-ammonium cations via N-H?O bonds, resulting in a double-chain-like structure. The dihedral angles of all carboxylate groups with respect to the phenylene rings are in the range 7.9?(1)-20.48?(9)°.
