Tetra-kis(di-4-pyridylsulfane)dinitratocopper(II).

ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Cu(NO(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2)S)(4)], the Cu(II) atom (site symmetry ) is coordinated by two monodentate nitrate ions and two monodentate di-4-pyridylsulfane ligands, resulting in a slightly distorted trans-arranged CuO(2)N(4) octa-hedral geometry. Intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds are present. In the crystal, adjacent mol-ecules are linked via C-H?N hydrogen bonds into chains parallel to the a axis. Inter-molecular C-H?O inter-actions also occur.

Project description:The tetra-nuclear copper(II) title complex, [Cu(4)Cl(2)(OH)(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(4)](NO(3))(2)·6H(2)O, has a crystallographically imposed centre of symmetry. The metal atoms display a distorted tetragonal-pyramidal coordination geometry, and are linked by two ?(2)- and two ?(3)-hydroxo groups, assuming a chair-like conformation for the Cu(4)O(2) core. In the crystal, the complex mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional network by inter-molecular O-H?O, O-H?Cl, C-H?O and C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds and ?-? stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid separations of 3.724?(2) and 3.767?(3)?Å.

Each manganese(II) cation is coordinated by two terminally N-bonded seleno-cyanate anions and four bpe ligands within a slightly distorted octa-hedron. The manganese(II) cations are linked by the bpe ligands into chains that are further connected by these ligands into layers. These layers are stacked, forming cavities in which additional bpe solvent molecules are embedded.

Both unique Cu(2+) ions are coordinated by an N,N'-bidentate phenanthroline mol-ecule, two O-monodentate bis-bridging succinate dianions and a water mol-ecule, resulting in distorted CuN(2)O(3) square-based pyramidal geometries for the metal ions, with the water mol-ecule occupying the apical site. In the crystal, the components are linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds and aromatic ?-? stacking inter-actions [minimum centroid-centroid separation = 3.537?(2)?Å].

Project description:The title compound, [Mn(C3H7NO)4(H2O)2][Cu5(C7H4NO3)4]·C3H7NO or cis-[Mn(H2O)2(DMF)4]{Cu[12-MCCu(II)N(shi)-4]}·DMF, where MC is metallacrown, shi3- is salicyl-hydroximate, and DMF is N,N-di-methyl-formamide, crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/n. Two crystallographically independent metallacrown anions are present in the structure, and both anions exhibit minor main mol-ecule disorder by an approximate (non-crystallographic) 180° rotation with occupancy ratios of 0.9010?(9) to 0.0990?(9) for one anion and 0.9497?(8) to 0.0503?(8) for the other. Each penta-copper(II) metallacrown contains four CuII ions in the MC ring and a CuII ion captured in the central cavity. Each CuII ion is four-coordinate with a square-planar geometry. The anionic {Cu[12-MCCu(II)N(shi)-4]}2- is charged-balanced by the presence of a cis-[Mn(H2O)2(DMF)4]2+ cation located in the lattice. In addition, the octa-hedral MnII counter-cation is hydrogen bonded to both MC anions via the coordinated water mol-ecules of the MnII ion. The water mol-ecules form hydrogen bonds with the phenolate and carbonyl oxygen atoms of the shi3- ligands of the MCs.

The Mg(II) ion is hexa-coordinated to four tetra-hydro-furan (THF) ligands, and two AlH(4) (-) anions through bridging H atoms. The Al-H distances are more precise compared to those previously determined [Nöth et al. (1995 ?). Chem. Ber. 128, 999-1006; Fichtner & Fuhr (2002 ?). J. Alloys Compd, 345, 386-396]. The mol-ecule has twofold rotation symmetry.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C7H12N2)4(H2O)2]Cl2, the nickel(II) ion has a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment. It is surrounded by three N atoms and one O atom occupying the equatorial plane, and one N and one O atom in the axial positions. The imidazole ring systems are inclined to one another with dihedral angles varying between 38.3?(4) and 74.1?(4)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds involving one Cl(-) anion and the water mol-ecule in the equatorial plane, forming an inversion dimer-like arrangement. The water mol-ecule in the axial position is hydrogen-bonded to both Cl(-) anions. There are also a number of C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds present, forming a three-dimensional structure. All four alkyl chains are disordered over two positions with refined occupancy ratios of 0.395?(15):0.605?(15), 0.658?(14):0.342?(14), 0.332?(11):0.668?(11) and 0.622?(12):0.378?(12).

Tetra-kis(di-cyclo-hexyl-amido)-zirconium(IV).

Project description:The reaction of ZrCl4 with three equivalents of LiNCy2 (Cy is cyclo-hex-yl) resulted in the formation of tris-(di-cyclo-hexyl-amido)-zirconium chloride and the title compound, [Zr(C12H22N)4]. The latter is isotypic with its cerium(IV) analogue and crystallizes with three independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. One mol-ecule is located about a twofold rotation axis, and the other two on fourfold inversion axes. In each mol-ecule, the ZrIV atom has a distorted tetra-hedral coordination environment. The crystal under investigation was twinned by inversion in a 1:1 ratio.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title structure, [CoCl2(C3H11NOP)4][CoCl4]2, consists of one half of the trans-dichlorido-tetra-kis-[(di-methyl-phosphor-yl)methanaminium]cobalt(II) tetra-cation lying on an inversion center and one tetra-chloridocobaltate(II) dianion on a general position. Four O-coordinated cationic (di-methyl-phosphor-yl)methanaminium (dpmaH(+)) ligands occupy the equatorial coordination sites, whereas the chloride ligands occupy axial positions of the roughly o-cta-hedral coordination polyhedron of the cobalt metal center. Intra-molecular hydrogen bonds between the aminium groups and the O atom of the phosphoryl groups and additional hydrogen bonds between the aminium groups and the chloride ligands are present. Furthermore, four of the six H atoms not involved in intra-molecular bonding of each cobalt(II) tetra-cation form weak hydrogen bonds to four adjacent tetra-chloridocobaltate(II) counter-anions. By these inter-molecular hydrogen bonds, one-dimensional polymeric strands are formed along the b-axis direction. The hydrogen bonding is analyzed using the graph-set method and the structural similarity with dpmaHCl is discussed.

Project description:In the title complex, [Mn(C(13)H(14)N(2))(4)(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(2)·1.5H(2)O, the Mn(II) ion is coordinated by four N atoms from four different 1,3-di-4-pyridyl-propane mol-ecules and two O atoms from two coordinated water mol-ecules, leading to a distorted MnN(4)O(2) octa-hedral geometry. Each 1,3-di-4-pyridyl-propane ligand displays a monodentate coordinating mode. In the crystal, there exist O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The perchlorate anions and the coordinated and lattice water mol-ecules play an important role in the formation of these hydrogen bonds. One of the two lattice water molecules shows half-occupancy.
