Poly[dimethano-lbis[?-5-(3-pyrid-yl)tetra-zolato-?N:N]copper(II)].

ABSTRACT: In the crystal structure of the title complex, [Cu(C(6)H(4)N(5))(2)(CH(3)OH)(2)](n), the Cu(II) cation lies on an inversion center and is coordinated by four 5-(3-pyrid-yl)tetra-zolate anions and two methanol mol-ecules in an elongated distorted CuN(4)O(2) octa-hedral geometry. Each 5-(3-pyrid-yl)tetra-zolate anion bridges two Cu(II) cations, forming a two-dimensional polymeric complex with (4,4) network topology. In the crystal structure, the two-dimensional layers are connected by inter-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonding, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture.

There are weak intra-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds between the two ligands. In the crystal structure, there are significant ?-? stacking inter-actions between symmetry-related tetra-zole and pyridine rings, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.6025?(18)°.

Project description:The title compound, [Mn(C(6)H(4)N(5))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], was synthesized by the hydro-thermal reaction of Mn(NO(3))(2) with picolino-nitrile in the presence of NaN(3). The Mn atom lies on an inversion centre. The distorted octa-hedral Mn environment contains two planar trans-related N,N'-chelating 5-(2-pyrid-yl)-tetra-zolate ligands in the equatorial plane and two axial water mol-ecules. Two types of coordinated zinc cations exist in the structure. One is tetra-hedrally coordinated by two O and two N from two ligands, the other is octa-hedrally coordinated by two N and two O from two ligands at equatorial sites and by two O atoms of water mol-ecules at axial sites, resulting in a two-dimensional framework. Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(10)H(8)N(3)O(2))(2)]·4H(2)O, the Cu(II) ion has a distorted octa-hedral coordination formed by four O [Cu-O = 2.051?(3)-2.083?(4)?Å] and two N [Cu-N = 1.985?(4) and 1.996?(4)?Å] atoms from two tridentate bis-(1-oxo-2-pyrid-yl)aminate ligands. In the two ligands, the pyridyl rings form dihedral angles of 21.0?(1) and 15.5?(1)°. The crystal packing exhibits an extensive network of O-H?O hydrogen bonds and ?-? inter-actions proved by short distances of 3.650?(1) and 3.732?(2)?Å between the centroids of pyridyl rings of neighbouring mol-ecules.

Three coordinated water mol-ecules complete the distorted octa-hedral geometry of the Zn(II) atom. O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds involving the coordinated water mol-ecules, tetra-zolate N atoms and the carboxyl-ate group result in a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(6)H(4)N(5))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the Co atom is bonded to two water mol-ecules and two bidentate 5-(2-pyrid-yl)tetra-zolate ligands resulting in a slightly distorted octa-hedral CoN(4)O(2) coordination geometry. The Co(II) cation is situated on a crystallographic center of inversion. The asymmetric unit therefore comprises one-half of the mol-ecule. The four N atoms belonging to two bidentate 5-(2-pyrid-yl)tetra-zolate ligands lie in the equatorial plane and the two associated water mol-ecules are observed in the axial coordination sites. The crystal structure exhibits a three-dimensional supra-molecular network assembled by inter-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds.
