ABSTRACT: In the title compound (systematic name
3,7,9-trihydr-oxy-1-methyl-6H-benzo[c]chromen-6-one), C(14)H(10)O(5), the methyl group is shifted out of the molecular plane due to a steric collision, thus causing a slight twist of the benzene rings. The mol-ecular structure is stabilized by an intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond, generating an S(6) ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected by inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.
