ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Ag(2)(NO(3))(2)(C(28)H(30)N(2)P(2))](n), crystallizes in polymeric ?-helices. Three O atoms from three different nitrate ions in equatorial positions and two Ag atoms at axial positions set up a trigonal bipyramid. These units are linked by the phosphine ligands into endless helical chains that run along the c axis. The crystal used for the data collection was a racemic twin.

Project description:In the title chain compound, [Ag(NO(3))(C(26)H(24)P(2))](n), the bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)ethane (dppe) units link the Ag(+) ions into chains along [001]. A nitrate anion is coordinated to the Ag atom. There is a centre of symmetry at the mid-point of the ethane C-C bond and a twofold rotation axis passes through the Ag, N and terminal O atoms. Each Ag atom is four-coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry by two O atoms of the nitrate anion and two P atoms of dppe ligands. The two aromatic rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 73.77 (3)°.

Project description:The mol-ecular structure of the title compound, trans-[Cu(C2H)Cl(C26H24P2)2], consists of an Ru(II) cation, located on an inversion centre, in an octa-hedral environment defined by two chelating phosphines, one acetyl-ide and one chloride ligand. The -C CH and the chlorine ligands are disordered over two equivalent positions (0.5 occupancy each). The coordination geometry is distorted octa-hedral, with the -C CH fragment and the Cl ligand in trans positions. The four P atoms occupy the equatorial plane of the octa-hedron and the chloride and acetyl-ide ligands the axial positions.

Project description:Facile ligand substitution is observed when the ruthenium chloride complex [Ru(?(5)-C(9)H(7))Cl(dppe)] (dppe is diphenylphosphanyl ethane) is treated with NaN(3) in refluxing ethanol, yielding the title compound, [Ru(?(5)-C(9)H(7))(N(3))(dppe)] or [Ru(C(9)H(7))(N(3))(C(26)H(24)P(2))]. The Ru(II) atom has a typical piano-stool coordination. The Ru-P bond lengths are 2.284?(2) and 2.235?(2)?Å. NMR and MS analyses are in agreement with the structure of the title compound.

Project description:The title compound, [Ag2(NO3)2(C14H38B10P2)2]·2CH2Cl2, was synthesized by the reaction of 1,2-bis-(diiso-propyl-phosphan-yl)-1,2-dicarba-closo-dodeca-borane with AgNO3. The resulting dinuclear molecule has crystallographically imposed inversion symmetry. The diiso-propyl-phosphanyl-closo-carborane ligand is coordin-ated in a bidentate manner to the Ag(I) atom through the two P atoms. The distorted tetra-hedral coordination of the metal is completed by two O atoms of two bridging nitrate anions. The separation between the two Ag(I) atoms is 3.8913 (5) Å. The diisopropyl-phosphanyl-closo-carborane ligand is coordinated in a bidentate manner to the Ag(I) atom through the two P atoms. The coordination of the Ag(I) atom is distorted tetra-hedral, in which two vertices are formed by the P atoms of the chelating diphosphine ligand, and the other two are occupied by the S and N atoms of the two bridging thio-cyanate anions, leading to a centrosymmetric binuclear complex. The distance between the two C atoms in the carborane skeleton is 1.851?(6)?Å.
