{4'-[4-(4,4'-Bipyridin-1-ylmeth-yl)phen-yl]-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine}chloridoplatinum(II) bis-(perchlorate) acetonitrile disolvate sesquihydrate.

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [PtCl(C(32)H(24)N(5))](ClO(4))(2)·2CH(3)CN·1.5H(2)O, comprises two unique Pt(II) complex cations, four perchlorate anions, four acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules and three water mol-ecules. The Pt atom is four-coordinated by a tridentate chelating 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine ligand and a chloride ion in a square-planar geometry with modest distortion imposed by the constraint of the terpyridyl ligand. The r.m.s. deviations from the plane comprising the four ligand donor atoms and the Pt atom are 0.0381 and 0.0472?Å in the two complex cations.

Project description:The title heteroleptic bis--terpyridine complex, [Ru(C(15)H(11)N(3))(C(17)H(11)N(3))](PF(6))(2)·2CH(3)CN, crystallized from an acetonitrile solution as a salt containing two hexa-fluoridophosphate counter-ions and two acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules. The Ru(II) atom has a distorted octa-hedral geometry due to the restricted bite angle [157.7?(3)°] of the two mer-arranged N,N',N''-tridendate ligands, viz. 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine (tpy) and 4'-ethynyl-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine (tpy'), which are essentially perpendicular to each other, with a dihedral angle of 87.75?(12)° between their terpyridyl planes. The rod-like acetyl-ene group lies in the same plane as its adjacent terpyridyl moiety, with a maximum deviation of only 0.071?(11)?Å from coplanarity with the pyridine rings. The mean Ru-N bond length involving the outer N atoms trans to each other is 2.069?(6)?Å at tpy and 2.070?(6)?Å at tpy'. The Ru-N bond length involving the central N atom is 1.964?(6)?Å at tpy and 1.967?(6)?Å at tpy'. Two of the three counter anions were refined as half-occupied.

Project description:In the binuclear title complex, [Ag(2)(C(31)H(22)N(4)O)(2)](ClO(4))(2)·2C(3)H(7)NO, the Ag(I) atom is penta-coordinated by three N atoms from the tridentate chelating terpyridyl group and by one N atom and one O atom from the quinolin-8-yl-oxy group in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry with the O atom at the apical position. The centrosymmetric complex cation involves intra-molecular ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.862?(4)?Å] between the central pyridine and benzene rings. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds result in the formation of a supra-molecular network.

Least-squares mean-plane distortions of only 1.72 (2) and 2.91 (2)° of the pyrimidyl rings with respect to the central pyridine are observed for the bis-(pyrimid-yl)pyridine-based tridentate ligand, while the distal pyridyl rings of terpyridine twist by 13.43 (7) and 4.68 (9)° away from the central pyridine ring.

Project description:The title complex, [CuFe(C(5)H(5))(C(20)H(14)N(3))(C(12)H(8)N(2))](ClO(4))(2)·C(2)H(3)N, consists of a mononuclear [Cu(C(12)H(8)N(2))(C(25)H(19)FeN(3))](2+) cation, two ClO(4) (-) anions (one of which is disordered over two positions with equal occupancy) and one CH(3)CN solvent mol-ecule. The Cu(II) center has a distorted square-pyramidal coordination with three N atoms of the 4'-ferrocenyl-2,2':6',2''- terpyridine (fctpy) ligand and one 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) N atom in the basal plane and a second phen N atom in the apical position with an axial distance of 2.254?(4)?Å. The disordered ClO(4) (-) anion is weakly coordin-ated to the Cu(II) ion with a Cu-O distance of 2.766?(11)?Å. The two cyclo-penta-dienyl rings of the ferrocenyl group are almost eclipsed with a deviation of 4.7?(1) °, and are involved in inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions with the outer pyridyl rings of the fctpy ligands [centroid-centroid distance = 3.759?(2)?Å.].

Project description:In the title complex, [FeZn(C(5)H(5))(C(20)H(14)N(3))(C(12)H(8)N(2))](ClO(4))(2)·CH(3)CN, the Zn(II) atom is five-coordinated by a tridentate chelating 4'-ferrocenyl-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine (fctpy) ligand and a bidentate chelating 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligand in a distorted square-pyramidal environment with a phen N atom located at the apical position [Zn-N = 2.259?(4)?Å]. The terpyridyl motif in each fctpy ligand is coplanar, but the cyclo-penta-dienyl ring is twisted by 9.5?(2)° out of coplanarity with each central pyridine. The two cyclo-penta-dienyl rings of the ferrocenyl group are almost eclipsed with a deviation of 4.5?(1)°. In addition, inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance 3.753?(2)?Å] are present between the cyclo-penta-dienyl and outer pyridyl rings of the fctpy ligands. Project description:In the polymeric title compound, {[Ag(C(8)H(10)N(4)S(4))]ClO(4)·1.5H(2)O}(n), the Ag(I) atom has a slightly distorted trigonal-planar coordination geometry provided by three N-atom donors from the thia-diazole rings of three symmetry-related 2,2'-[butane-1,4-diylbis(sulfanedi-yl)]bis-(1,3,4-thia-diazole) ligands. Centrosymmetrically related Ag(I) atoms are bridged by the N-N fragments of rings, forming six-membered dinuclear metallacycles, which are further linked by the alkyl spacers of the thia-diazole ligands into a layer network extending parallel to (0-21). The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds. The O atoms of the perchlorate anion and one water mol-ecule are disordered over two sets of sites with refined occupancy ratios of 0.640?(6):0.360?(6) and 0.663?(11):0.337?(11), respectively. The second water molecule shows half-occupancy.
