ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Bi(C(8)H(18)PS(2))(3)], contains a Bi(III) cation surrounded by three bis-(2-methyl-prop-yl)dithio-phosphinate anions, leading to a distorted octa-hedral coordination for the heavy metal. The Bi-S and S-P bond lengths are in the ranges 2.7694?(18)-2.8391?(17) and 2.019?(2)-2.035?(2)?Å, respectively. The crystal structure is consolidated by C-H?S hydrogen bonds. Intra-molecular C-H?? inter-actions also play a role in stabilizing the mol-ecules.

The title compound, [Bi(C(8)H(18)PS(2))(3)], contains a Bi(III) cation surrounded by three bis-(2-methyl-prop-yl)dithio-phosphinate anions, leading to a distorted octa-hedral coordination for the heavy metal. The Bi-S and S-P bond lengths are in the ranges 2.7694 (18)-2.8391 (17) and 2.019 (2)-2.035 (2) Å, respectively. The crystal structure is consolidated by C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds. Project description:The mol-ecular structure of the title compound, [Bi(2)(C(11)H(16)N)(4)(CO(3))], consists of a symmetrically bridging carbonato group which binds two [2-Et(2)NCH(2)C(6)H(4)](2)Bi units that are crystallographically related via a twofold rotation axis bis-ecting the carbonate group. The two Bi atoms and two of the C atoms directly bonded to bis-muth are quasi-planar [deviations of 0.323?(1) and 0.330?(9)Å for the Bi and C atoms, respectively] with the carbonate group. The remaining two ligands are in a trans arrangement relative to the quasi-planar (CBi)(2)CO(3) system. The metal atom is strongly coordinated by the N atom of one pendant arm [Bi-N = 2.739?(6)?Å], almost trans to the O atom, while the N atom of the other pendant arm exhibits a weaker intra-molecular inter-action [Bi?N = 3.659?(7)?Å] almost trans to a C atom. If both these intra-molecular N?Bi inter-actions per metal atom are considered, the overall coordination geometry at bis-muth becomes distorted square-pyramidal [(C,N)(2)BiO cores] and the compound can be described as a hypervalent 12-Bi-5 species. Additional quite short intra-molecular Bi?O inter-actions are also present [3.796?(8)-4.020?(9)?Å]. Inter-molecular associations through weak ?(6)?Bi inter-actions [Bi?centroid of benzene ring = 3.659?(1)?Å] lead to a ribbon-like supra-molecular association.

Project description:The title compound, C26H42N4O2S2, adopts a shallow U-shape as both pendant arms of the 1,3-substituted benzene ring are orientated in the same direction. The thione S atoms lie to the same side of the benzene ring and the carbonyl O atoms to the other. The most prominent feature of the crystal packing is the formation of inversion dimers mediated by N-H?S hydrogen bonds. One of the 2-methyl-propyl groups is statistically disordered over two positions.

Both macrocycles exhibit a planar conformation with average deviation from the least-squares-plane of the 24 macrocycle atoms of ?24 = 0.043?Å for the first mol-ecule and 0.026?Å for the mol-ecule located on an inversion center. The average Ni-N bond lengths are 1.955?(2) and 1.956?(2)?Å in the two mol-ecules. The mol-ecules form ?-? dimers of inter-mediary strength with a mean plane separation of 3.36?(2)?Å.

The coordination number of the Yb(III) ion is eight. The HL ligands chelate with a strong Yb-O(phenolate) bond and a weak Yb-O(meth-oxy) contact. The latter augments the coordination polyhedron to give a YbO(10) bicapped square antiprism. Classical inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds as well as weak C-H?O contacts contribute to the stability of the structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Pb(C14H14O2PS2)2] n , the metal atom is surrounded by two O,O'-bis-(2-methyl-phen-yl) dithio-phosphate ligands bonding through the S-donor atoms. Three of the Pb-S bond lengths are are close to each other at 2.7710?(18), 2.8104?(16) and 2.8205?(16)?Å, while the fourth Pb-S bond is elongated at 3.0910?(18)?Å and reflects the fact that this atom is involved in inter-molecular bridging to an adjacent Pb(II) atom [Pb-S = 3.145?(2)?Å]. The bond angles demonstrate that the Pb(II) atom contains a stereochemically active lone pair with a distorted octa-hedral geometry about the Pb(II) atom. This distortion is shown by the S-Pb-S bite angles of 73.63?(4) and 69.50?(4)°, while the remaining S-Pb-S angles range from 81.03?(5) to 143.66?(5)°. One of the benzene rings shows positional disorder over two orientations with occupancy factors of 0.747?(11) and 0.253?(11).

Each Ni(2+) cation is coordinated in a cis-mode by two tridentate N,N',S-chelating Schiff base ligands, creating a distorted octa-hedron [the smallest angle being 77.57?(7)° and the widest being 168.97?(7)° for one mol-ecule, and 78.04?(7) and 167.55?(7)° for the second mol-ecule]. The dihedral angle between the mean coordination planes of the two ligands is 86.76?(7)° for one and 89.99?(7)° for the second mol-ecule. ?-? inter-actions between neighbouring pyridine rings with plane-to-plane distances of 3.540?(1) and 3.704?(1)?Å are observed.
