ABSTRACT: The title dinuclear compound, [Tb(2)(C(7)H(5)O(3))(6)(H(2)O)(6)]·10H(2)O, lies on a center of inversion and the two Tb(III) atoms are bridged by two 4-hydroxy-benzoate anions; each metal atom is further coordinated by one monodentate anion and chelated by the third anion. The eight-coordinate geometry approximates a square anti-prism. Hydrogen bonds of the O-H⋯O type connect the uncoordinated water mol-ecules to the dinuclear species, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(2)(C(7)H(5)O(3))(4)(C(7)H(6)N(2))(4)][Ni(C(7)H(5)O(3))(2)(C(7)H(6)N(2))(2)]·6H(2)O, is a mononuclear/dinuclear nickel(II) cocrystal, the two mol-ecular species inter-acting through hydrogen bonds that involve the uncoordinated water mol-ecules. In the mononuclear species, the Ni(II) ion, located on an inversion center, is coordinated by two 1H-benzimidazole (bzim) ligands and two 3-hydroxy-benzoate (hba) anions in a square-planar geometry. In the centrosymmetric dinuclear species, the Ni(II) ion is coordinated by two bzim ligands and three hba anions in a square-pyramidal geometry; of the two independent hba anions, one bridges two Ni(II) ions with both carboxylate and hydroxyl groups whereas the other coordin-ates in a unidentate manner to the Ni(II) ion. The apical Ni-O(hydrox-yl) bond is 0.39 Å longer than the basal Ni-O(carbox-yl) bonds. The face-to-face separation of 3.326 (9) Å indicates the existence of π-π stacking between parallel bzim ligands of adjacent dinuclear entities. Extensive N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds help to stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Tb(2)(C(7)H(5)O(2))(6)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)]·2C(7)H(6)O(2), consists of one-half of the complex mol-ecule, which lies on a crystallographic inversion centre, and one benzoic acid solvent mol-ecule. The two Tb(III) ions are linked by four bridging benzoate ions, with a Tb⋯Tb distance of 3.9280 (6) Å. Additionally, each Tb(III) ion is coordinated by one phenanthroline heterocycle and a bidentate benzoate ion. The irregular nine-coordinated geometry of the Tb(III) ion is composed of seven O and two N atoms. The mol-ecular structure is stabilized by intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked into chains along the a axis by inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The crystal structure is further stabilized by inter-molecular C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions. Weak π-π inter-actions are also observed [centroid-centroid distances = 3.6275 (14)-3.6604 (14) Å].

Project description:In the centrosymmetric dinuclear title complex, [Tb(2)(NO(3))(6)(C(10)H(8)N(2)O(2))(2)(CH(3)OH)(2)], the Tb atoms are bridged by the carboxyl-ate groups of the two 4-(1H-imidazol-3-ium-1-yl)benzoate (iba) ligands. The iba ligand adopts a zwitterionic form with a protonated imidazole group. The Tb atom adopts a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic coordination geometry and is coordinated by six O atoms of three chelating nitrate ions, one O atom of the methanol mol-ecule and two O atoms of two iba ligands. The intra-molecular Tb⋯Tb separation is 5.1419 (3) Å. O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect complex mol-ecules into a two-dimensional network.

Project description:The title dimeric complex, [Eu(2)(C(7)H(5)O(2))(6)(C(3)H(7)NO)(2)(H(2)O)(2)], is centrosymmetric, implying that pairs of equivalent Eu(3+) ions and ligands lie trans to each other and that the two Eu(3+) ions have exactly the same coordination environment. Each Eu(3+) ion is nine-coordinated by two bidentate benzoate ligands, two bridging tridentate chelating benzoate ligands, and one dimethylformamide and one water molecule. The coordination polyhedron of each Eu(3+) ion can be described with a distorted monocapped square-anti-prismatic geometry. The mol-ecular structure is stabilized by intra- and inter-molecular hydrogen bonds between the water mol-ecules and benzoate O atoms.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric binuclear title complex, [Pb(2)(C(7)H(5)O(3))(4)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·H(2)O, each Pb atom is eight-coordinated in a PbO(6)N(2) environment by two N atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligand, five carboxylate O atoms from four 3-hydroxy-benzoate anions and one O atom from the coordinated water mol-ecule in a distorted bicapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The benzoate groups coordinate each Pb(II) atom in two different ways. Two benzoate ions behave as bidentate ligands to the Pb atom, and another benzoate ion bridges the Pb atoms, forming a binuclear structure. The dimeric units are packed via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions between the aromatic rings of neighboring mol-ecules, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.552 (2) and 3.641 (2) Å.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric dinuclear title compound, [Tb(2)(C(7)H(3)F(2)O(2))(6)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)], the Tb(III) ion is coordinated by an N,N'-bidentate 2,2'-bipyridine mol-ecule, and two O,O'-bidentate 2,4-difluoro-benzoate (dfb) anions. One of the latter also bonds to the second Tb(III) centre through one of its O atoms. The third dfb anion bonds to one Tb atom from each of its O atoms. Thus, the three dfb species have three different coordination modes. This results in an irregular TbN(2)O(7) coordination sphere for the metal ion. The F atoms and their associated H atoms in the simple bidentate dfb anion are disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.672 (10):0.328 (10) ratio.

Each Cu(II) atom has a normal square-planar geometry. The mol-ecule has approximate local (non-crystallographic) mirror symmetry and 23 classical hydrogen bonds are found in the crystal structure.
