12-Eth-oxy-2,3,8,9-tetra-methoxy-benzo[c]phenanthridine dichloro-methane solvate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(23)H(23)NO(5)·CH(2)Cl(2), was obtained via the alkyl-ation of the 12-hydr-oxy-2,3,8,9-tetra-methoxy-benzo[c]phenanthridine salt. The benzo[c]phenanthridine ring system is essentially planar, with a mean out-of-plane deviation of 0.026?Å. A dicloromethane mol-ecule of solvation is present and located between the sheets of phenanthridine mol-ecules, preventing any significant inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding or ?-? inter-actions.

Project description:In the title complex, [Zn(C(48)H(36)N(4))]·CH(2)Cl(2), the Zn(II) atom lies on an inversion center and the dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecule is disordered around an inversion center. The tolyl substituents are twisted compared to the central aromatic ring system of the porphyrin, similar to what is seen in previously published structures of this molecule [Dastidar & Goldberg (1996 ▶). Acta Cryst. C52, 1976-1980]. The dihedral angles between the mean planes of the tolyl rings and the central ring are 66.98 (6) and 60.40 (6)°.

Project description:In the title compound, C(32)H(28)N(2)·CH(2)Cl(2), the complete Schiff base and solvent molecules are both generated by crystallographic twofold axes, with the two C atoms of the former and the C atom of the latter lying on the rotation axis. The central benzene ring is substituted with two chiral groups including imine functionalities, with the common E configuration. The dihedral angle between the central benzene ring and the terminal naphthalene ring is 45.42 (9)° and that between the two naphthalene rings is 89.16 (8)°. The conformation of the Schiff base allows solvent mol-ecules to fill the voids in the crystal, affording a stable 1:1 solvate, but the solvent inter-acts poorly with the Schiff base, as reflected by its rather high displacement parameters.

Project description:In the title compound, C(48)H(64)O(4)·0.5CH(2)Cl(2), both crystallographically independent calixarene mol-ecules display a partial cone conformation. Their crystal packing is stabilized by C-H?? contacts involving the meth-oxy groups. The solvent mol-ecule is located inter-stitially between two calixarene units with C-H?Cl contacts to meth-oxy and tert-butyl groups. One tert-butyl residue of each calixarene mol-ecule is disordered over two positions (occupancies 0.60/0.40 and 0.63/0.37), resulting in bond distances that deviate from ideal values. The tetra-mer calixarene mol-ecules present models with approximate non-crystallographic C(s) symmetry.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(60)H(70)N(2)O(10)·4CH(3)CN, the calix[4]arene mol-ecule adopts an open-cone conformation with two intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds. The four benzene rings of the calix[4]arene are twisted to the mean plane defined by four methyl-ene C atoms bridging the benzene rings, with dihedral angles ranging from 57.74?(10) to 65.99?(12)°. Two pendant nitro-phenyl rings are nearly perpendicular to each other, the dihedral angle being 70.9?(3)°. The asymmetric unit of the crystal structure contains four acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules, one of which lies in the calix cavity and makes C-H?? inter-actions and another links with the calix[4]arene via C-H?O hydrogen bonding. One tert-butyl group is disordered over two sets of sites, with a 0.736?(13):0.264?(13) occupancy ratio.

The thiourea molecules exist in the solid state in their thione forms with typical thio-urea C-S and C-O bonds lengths, as well as shortened C-N bonds. The -NH-C(=S)-NH-C(=O)- plane is almost perpen-dicular to the benzene ring in each thiourea molecule. Intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds stabilize the mol-ecular conformation and inter-molecular N-H?S hydrogen bonds stabilize the packing arrangement.

Project description:The title compound, C(23)H(18)BrN, was synthesized by the reaction of 4-bromo-benzaldehyde, naphthalen-2-amine and cyclo-hexa-none in tetra-hydro-furan, catalyzed by iodine. The saturated six-membered ring adopts a half-chair conformation, and the four vicinal rings form a helical conformation, which results in a significant deviation from planarity for the pyridine ring. In the crystal, a weak C-H⋯π inter-action occurs, leading to inversion dimers.
