(2E)-N'-Benzoyl-3-(4-nitro-phen-yl)prop-2-enohydrazide.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(16)H(13)N(3)O(4), the dihedral angle between the terminal benzene rings is 14.02?(7)°. The carbonyl groups are anti with respect to each other, which facilitates their participation in the formation of supra-molecular chains. Each side of the -C(=O)N(H)N(H)C(=O)- residue associates with a centrosymmetrically related mol-ecule, resulting in the formation of essentially flat ten-membered {?O=CNN(H)}(2) synthons. The resultant chains are further consolidated in the crystal structure via C-H?O contacts.

Project description:In the title compound, C15H10ClNO3, a substituted chalcone, the dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 5.1 (7)°. The nitro group makes a dihedral angle of 12.5 (3)° with the benzene ring to which it is attached. In the crystal, weak C-H⋯O inter-actions link the mol-ecules into a one-dimensional array along [010]. The crystal studied was an inversion twin, with a refined ratio for the twin components of 0.6060 (9):0.3939 (1).

The benzene and nitro-substituted benzene rings are almost coplanar and make a dihedral angle of 4.78 (8)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into two-dimensional networks parallel to the ab plane. Project description:In the title compound, C(24)H(15)Cl(2)N(3)O(3), the C=C double bond is E configured. The 1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole moiety is roughly planar (r.m.s. deviation of all fitted non-H atoms = 0.0780?Å), but the mean planes of the two components are inclined at an angle of 9.95?(7)°. The mean plane defined by the non-H atoms of the 1H-pyrazole ring encloses angles of 9.95?(7), 24.54?(6) and 43.02?(6)° with the mean planes of the different benzene rings. In the crystal, C-H?O contacts are present and result in the formation of a double-layer two-dimensional network lying parallel to (110). The shortest inter-centroid distance between two aromatic systems is 3.5455?(7)?Å and is apparent between two pyrazole systems. Further ?-? inter-actions are manifest between a pair of 4-nitro-phenyl rings [centroid-to-centroid distance = 3.6443?(7)?Å] and a pair of 2,4-dichloro-phenyl rings [centroid-to-centroid distance = 3.7797?(7)?Å].

While no classical hydrogen bonds are present, weak inter-molecular C-H??-ring inter-actions are observed, which contribute to the stability of crystal packing.

The dihedral angle between mean planes of the benzene rings is 71.3 (1)°. The angle between the mean plane of the prop-2-ene-1-one group and the mean planes of the 2-bromo-phenyl and 4-bromo-phenyl rings are 64.2 (9) and 71.3 (1)°, respectively. A weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-action and two weak C-Br⋯π inter-actions are observed, which contribute to the stability of the crystal packing.
