ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(25)H(28)NO(2)PS, the cyclo-decene ring exhibits a crown conformation. The two dimethyl-benzene rings which are fused symmetrically on either side of the ten-membered ring, make dihedral angles of 20.2?(1) and 18.0?(1)°. The phenyl ring substituted at P is perpendicular to the heterocyclic ring, making a dihedral angle of 88.4?(1)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by very weak intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonding.

Project description:In the title compound, C(27)H(19)NO(2)S, the naphtho-carbazole unit is approximately planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.002 Å) except for the N atom, which is displaced by 0.122 (1) Å out of the mean plane. The dihedral angle between the naphtho-carbazole mean plane and the phenyl ring of the phenyl-sulfonyl substituent is 83.16 (3)°. An inter-molecular C-H⋯π inter-action involving the phenyl group and the pyrrole ring is observed in the crystal structure.

Project description:The title compound, C(25)H(22)O(2), was synthesized via the three-component coupling of benzaldehyde, 2-naphthol and 5,5-dimethyl-cyclo-hexane-1,3-dione. In the crystal structure, centrosymmetrically related mol-ecules are linked into dimers by pairs of inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The dimers are further connected into a three-dimensional network by π-π aromatic stacking inter-actions involving the naphthalene ring system, with centroid-centroid separations of 3.695 (7) Å.

Project description:The coordination polyhedron at the silicon atom in the title compound, C26H37Cl2NO2Si·0.25C7H8, is typical for penta-coordinated silicon derivatives and represents a slightly distorted trigonal bipyramid with an N atom and a Cl atom in the apical positions and the two O atoms and the other Cl atom occupying the equatorial sites. There are two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The N-Si-Cl fragment in each is close to linear [178.24?(5) and 178.71?(5)°], in good agreement with 4e-3c theory, as is the elongation of the apical bond lengths [Si-Cl = 2.1663?(7) and 2.1797?(7)?Å] in comparison with the equatorial bonds [Si-Cl = 2.0784?(7) and 2.0748?(7)?Å]. Orthogonal least-squares fitting of the two independent mol-ecules resulted in r.m.s. deviation of 0.017?Å. The conformations of the two mol-ecules are almost the same, with corresponding torsion angles differing by less than 5.5°. The toluene solvent mol-ecule is disordered about an inversion centre.

Tethering the Cp*Ru group to one aryl ring of benzophenone results in average values of 1.42?(1) and 1.38?(1)?Å for the C-C bond lengths in the Ru-tethered and untethered phenyl rings, respectively. The dihedral angle between the benzene and phenyl rings of the benzophenone group is 50.5?(1)°.

The aromatic rings in opposite arms are nearly parallel to each other, with a dihedral angle of 10.26?(8) or 3.45?(9)°. The mol-ecules are linked into a two-dimensional network parallel to the bc plane by weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds, ?-? [centroid-centroid distance = 3.5806?(12)?Å] and S-O?? [O?centroid = 3.1455?(15)?Å and S-O?centroid = 122.41?(7)°] inter-molecular inter-actions. Intramolecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds are also present.
