ABSTRACT: In the title mol-ecule, C(14)H(11)N(3)O, the benzene ring is twisted by 14.0?(2)° from the plane through the fused ring system. In the crystal, ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.609?(1), 3.639?(1) and 3.735?(1)?Å] form stacks of mol-ecules propagating along the b axis. The crystal packing is further stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H?O and C-H?N hydrogen bonds.

The pyridine ring part of the pyridopyrazine ring and the pyrazine ring of two c-glide-plane-related mol-ecules form ?-? inter-actions. Project description:The crystal structures of 2,3-bis-(thio-phen-2-yl)pyrido[2,3-b]pyrazine, C15H9N3S2 (1), and 7-bromo-2,3-bis-(thio-phen-2-yl)pyrido[2,3-b]pyrazine, C15H8BrN3S2 (2), are discussed. Both mol-ecules crystallize in space group P21/c. In 1, the thienyl rings are inclined to the mean plane of the pyrido-pyrazine moiety by 6.16?(7) and 86.66?(8)°, where as in 2 the corresponding dihedral angles are 33.29?(11) and 19.84?(9)°. The pyrido-pyrazine moiety is relatively planar in 1 with the two rings being inclined to each other by 1.33?(7)°. In 2, however, the pyrido-pyrazine moiety is buckled with the corresponding dihedral angle being larger at 8.78?(10)°. In the crystal of 1, the packing creates inter-secting bilayers; the layering results from the pyrido-pyrazine moieties being engaged in offset ?-stacking, where the inter-planar distance is 3.431?(9)?Å with an offset 1.14?Å. In the crystal of 2, the mol-ecules pack head-to-head and are linked by a series of C-H?Br and C-H?N inter-molecular inter-actions, forming layers parallel to the ab plane.

Project description:A significant twist is observed in the title molecule, C(11)H(10)N(2)O(2), as seen in the dihedral angle between the pyrazine and benzene rings of 72.79?(8)°. The meth-oxy group is almost coplanar with the benzene ring to which it is attached [C-O-C-C torsion angle = 175.83?(15)°]. Centrosymmetric dimers are formed in the crystal structure which are held together by weak ?-? inter-actions between pyrazine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.8534?(10)?Å].

Project description:In the title compound, C(11)H(10)N(2)O(2), the aromatic rings are almost orthogonal to each other [dihedral angle = 86.97 (8)°], with the benzene ring orientated to face one of the pyrazine N atoms. In the crystal, centrosymmetrically related pairs are connected via pairs of C-H⋯π inter-actions and the dimeric units thus formed pack into undulating layers that stack along the a axis.

Project description:In the title compound, C(19)H(14)OS, the naphtho-thio-phene moiety is almost planar except for the S atom of the five-membered ring, which is situated 0.047 (6) Å out of the C(4) plane (with an r.m.s. deviation of fitted atoms = 0.0009 Å). The dihedral angle between the naphtho-thio-phene plane and the attached meth-oxy-phenyl ring is 67.6 (2)°. In the crystal, a C-H⋯π inter-action is observed between a meth-oxy-phenyl C-H group and the outer benzene ring of the naphtho-thio-phene moiety. The five-membered ring of the naphtho-thio-phene moiety is disordered, with the S and opposite non-fused C atom approximately exchanging positions, with a site-occupancy factors of 0.808 (3) and 0.187 (3).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C23H16OS, contains two independent mol-ecules with opposite orientations of the meth-oxy groups bonded to the benzene rings. The napthobenzothiophene group in the two molecules is separated by an average distance of 3.912 Å. In both mol-ecules, the napthobenzothio-phene unit is almost planar, with r.m.s deviations of 0.0522 and 0.0143 Å. The meth-oxy-phenyl ring makes dihedral angles of 67.0 (6)° and 70.4 (6)° with respect to the napthobenzothio-phene ring system in the two mol-ecules. The crystal packing features C-H⋯S, π-π [centroid-centroid distances = 3.666 (10) and 3.658 (10) Å] and C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming a sheet running along the b-axis direction.

Project description:In the title compound, C(17)H(19)NO(3), the dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 68.0 (1)°. The C-O-C-C torsion angle of the atoms joining these rings is 179.7 (2)°. The atoms of the methanol group were refined as disordered over two sets of sites with fixed occupancies of 0.86 and 0.14. The H atoms of the hy-droxy group in the major component are disordered over a further two sets of sites with equal occupancies. This is a necessary arrangement to allow for hydrogen bonding without unrealistic H⋯H contacts. In the crystal, O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect mol-ecules into chains along [001].
