ABSTRACT: In the title coordination polymer, [Na(C(4)H(2)N(3)O(4))(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Na(I) atom is six-coordinated by one O atom and one N atom from a 2H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carb-oxy-5-carboxyl-ate ligand and four O atoms from four water mol-ecules, forming a distorted octa-hedal geometry. The Na(I) atoms are bridged by water mol-ecules into a chain structure along [100]. Inter-molecular N-H?O, O-H?N and O-H?O hydrogen bonds connect the chains. An intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond between the carboxyl-ate groups is observed.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Li(C(6)H(3)N(2)O(4))(H(2)O)](n), contains an Li(I) ion with a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination environment. It is chelated by a singly protonated ligand mol-ecule via its heterocyclic N atom, by two O aoms, each donated by an adjacent carboxyl-ate group, and is further coordinated by a water O atom which acts as a bridge, forming a mol-ecular ribbon. A proton attached to one of the carboxyl-ate O atoms is situated on an inversion centre and forms a short centrosymmetric hydrogen bond, generating mol-ecular layers parallel to the ac plane. Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Li2(C4H2N3O4)2(H2O)4], contains centrosymmetric dinuclear mol-ecules in which two Li(I) ions are bridged by two water O atoms. The metal ion is coordinated by one N,O-bidentate ligand and three water O atoms (one of them is symmetry generated), with one of the bridging water O atoms in the apical position of a distorted square pyramid. The carboxyl-ate group that participates in coordination to the metal ion remains protonated; the other is deprotonated and coordination inactive. An intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond between carboxyl-ate groups is observed. In the crystal, dimers are linked by O-H?O, O-H?N and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The structure of the binuclear title complex, [U(2)(C(5)H(3)N(2)O(2))(4)O(4)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, is composed of centrosymmetric dimers in which each UO(2) (2+) ion is coordinated by two ligand mol-ecules. One donates its N,O-bonding group and the other donates both carboxyl-ate O atoms. Each of the latter bridges adjacent uranyl ions. The coordination environment of the metal center is a distorted penta-gonal bipyramid. The dimers are inter-connected by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules and carboxyl-ate O atoms. An intra-molecular O-H⋯N inter-action is also present.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(12)H(11)N(5))(2)(H(2)O)](n), the Cu(II) ion is five-coordinated by two carboxyl-ate O atoms from two symmetry-related benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate ligands, two N atoms from two symmetry-related N(6)-benzyl-adenine ligands and one water O atom in a square-pyramidal environment. The Cu(II) and water O atoms lie on a twofold rotation axis, and the benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate ligand lies on an inversion center. The water O atom occupies the apical position and the basal plane is occupied by two O atoms and two N atoms. Each benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate anion acts as a bis-monodentate ligand that binds two Cu(II) cations, forming an infinite chain extending parallel to [001]. The N(6)-benzyl-adenine ligands are attached on both sides of the chain. Neighboring chains are further inter-connected into the resulting three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture via O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, as well as π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.945 (3) Å] contribute to the stabilization of this structure.

Project description:In the polymeric title complex, {[Mn(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(7)H(6)N(2))(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O}(n), the Mn(II) cation is coordinated by two benzene-dicarboxyl-ate anions, one benzimidazole ligand and two water mol-ecules in a distorted MnNO(5) octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, each benzene-dicarboxyl-ate anion bridges adjacent Mn(II) cations through the terminal carboxyl-ate groups, forming a polymeric complex chain along the a axis. One Mn-O(carboxyl-ate) bond is much longer than the others. In the crystal, π-π stacking is observed between nearly parallel [dihedral angle = 4.32 (6)°] benzimidazole aromatic ring systems of adjacent mol-ecules, the centroid-centroid distance between the imidazole and benzene rings being 3.5421 (11) Å. Extensive inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure. The two lattice water mol-ecules are located on twofold rotation axes.

Project description:The title compound, {[Co(C(2)H(5)COO)(2)(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), was synthesized by the reaction of cobalt(II) carbonate hydrate with aqueous propionic acid. The structure consists of polymeric infinite linear chains with composition [Co(C(2)H(5)COO)(4/2)(H(2)O)(2/2)](∞) running along [010]. The chains are formed by Co(2+) ions linked with bridging propionate groups and water mol-ecules, with a Co⋯Co distance along the chains of 3.2587 (9) Å. The Co(2+) ion is six-coordinated in a strongly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The chains are connected to each other by a network of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving solvent water mol-ecules.
