ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Zn(CH(3)CN)(H(2)O)(5)](C(6)H(4)O(8)S(2))·3H(2)O, the Zn(II) ion lies on a mirror plane and is octa-hedrally coordinated by one acetonitrile ligand and five water mol-ecules. The 4,6-dihydroxy-benzene-1,3-disulfonate anion, acting as a counter-ion, is also located on the mirror plane. The crystal packing is stabilized by O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:The Zn(II) atom in the title complex, [Zn(C(6)H(4)O(8)S(2))(H(2)O)(5)]·5H(2)O, is coordinated by five water mol-ecules and an O atom of a 4,6-dihy-droxy-benzene-1,3-disulfonate dianion. The coord-ination geometry is distorted octa-hedral, with the Zn-O(sulfonate) bond relatively long compared to the Zn-O(water) bonds. The coordinated and lattice water mol-ecules inter-act with each other and with the hy-droxy groups and sulfonate ligand through O-H?O hydrogen bonds, generating a tightly held three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title salt, [K(2)(C(6)H(4)O(8)S(2))(H(2)O)](n), both K(+) ions exhibit a seven-coordination with K-O bond lengths in the range 2.6600?(14) to 3.0522?(16)?Å. One K(+) ion is coordinated by seven O atoms from the sulfonate and phenolic hy-droxy groups of six 4,6-dihy-droxy-benzene-1,3-disulfonate (L(2-)) anions while the other K(+) ion is coordinated by six O atoms from the sulfonate and phenolic hy-droxy groups of five L(2-) anions and one water O atom. The L(2-) anion exhibits chelating-bridging multidentate coordination to potassium, resulting in the formation of a cross-linked three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title Schiff base compound, C(13)H(11)NO(5)S·3H(2)O, formed from sulfanilic acid and 2,4-dihydroxy-benzaldehyde, crystallized out as a zwitterion with the N atom protonated. The asymmetric unit consists of one 4-[(2,4-dihydroxy-benzyl-idene)ammonio]benzene-sulfonate and three water mol-ecules. The zwitterion exists in an E configuration with respect to the central C=N double bond. The two benzene rings of the mol-ecule are oriented at a dihedral angle of 27.33?(8)°. An intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond stabilizes the mol-ecular structure. In the crystal, the zwitterions are linked into chains along [101] by inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds. The three water mol-ecules link these chains into a three-dimensional framework by additional inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds. A ??? inter-action [3.5485?(9)?Å] further stabilizes the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cd(C(6)H(4)O(8)S(2))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)]·H(2)O, each Cd(II) ion is coordinated by four N atoms [Cd-N = 2.310 (7)-2.341 (7) Å] from two 1,10-phenanthroline ligands, one O atom [Cd-O = 2.300 (6) Å] from a 4,5-dihydroxy-benzene-1,3-disulfonate ligand and one aqua O atom [Cd-O = 2.288 (7) Å] in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The crystal packing exhibits inter-molecular O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions evidenced by relatively short distances [3.525 (5)-3.937 (6) Å] between the centroids of the six-membered rings of neighbouring mol-ecules.

Project description:In the title compound, 2Na(+)·C(6)H(4)O(9)S(2) (2-)·2H(2)O, the benzene rings of the 4,5,6-trihy-droxy-benzene-1,3-disulfonate ions, which are stacked parallel to each other forming rods parallel to the a axis, are slightly deformed (planarity, symmetry) mainly because of the high degree of substitution. The two sodium ions, located within pockets of the anion rods, are coordinated by six and seven O atoms, resulting in octa-hedral and penta-gonal-bipyramidal coordinations, respectively. In addition to these coordinative bonds towards sodium, an extended network of intra- and inter-molecular hydrogen bonds occurs.

The other Zn atom is five-coordinated in a highly distorted trigonal-biyramidal coordin-ation that is defined by two different N atoms from two 1,3-bis-(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)methane (btrm) ligands and three carboxyl-ate O atoms from 5-sulfonato-benzene-1,3-dicarboxyl-ate ligands. The chains carry negative charges, whereas the free [Zn(H(2)O)(6)](2+) cations are positively charged. The [Zn(H(2)O)(6)](2+) cation is connected with the one-dimensional tubelike chain through weak classical O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions as well as through electrostatic inter-actions. One of the two uncoordinated water molecules exhibits half-occupancy.

Project description:The title compound, (C(3)H(8)N(6))[AlF(5)(H(2)O)], was obtained by solvothermal synthesis from the reaction of aluminium hydroxide, 1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triamine (melamine), aqueous HF and water at 323 K for 48 h. The structure consists of [AlF(5)(H(2)O)](2-) octa-hedra and diprotonated melaminium cations. Cohesion is ensured by a three-dimensional network of hydrogen bonds.
