Poly[(?(2)-4,4'-bipyridine)(?(2)-3,5-dicarboxybenzenesulfonato)silver(I)].

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Ag(C(8)H(5)O(7)S)(C(10)H(8)N(2))](n), the Ag atom is tetra-coordinated by two 4,4'-bipydidine (4,4'-bipy) N atoms and two monodentate sulfonate O atoms of the 5-sulfoisophthalic acid (H(3)sip) ligands. Adjacent Ag atoms are bonded through four sulfonate O atoms, forming a dinuclear unit with an Ag?Ag separation of 3.384?(5)?Å; they are further linked together by the 4,4'-bipy lignds into a chain. Classical inter-molecular O-H?O and non-classical intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds are also observed in the two-dimensional supra-molecuar structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(9)H(5)O(6))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))](n), the asymmetric unit consists of one Co(2+) ion with site symmetry 2, one mono-deprotonated 1,3,5-benzene-tricarboxylic acid anion and one-half of a 4,4'-bipyridine (4,4'-bipy) mol-ecule, in which two N and two C atoms have site symmetry 2. In the crystal structure, the Co(2+) centre is coordinated by four O atoms from two bidentate carboxyl-ate groups of two anions and two N atoms of two 4,4'-bipy mol-ecules, resulting in infinite chains propagating in [010]. Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, {[Co(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(4)](C(7)H(3)NO(4))·3H(2)O}(n), consists of Co(II) polymeric complex cations, uncoordinated pyridine-3,5-dicarboxyl-ate anions and lattice water mol-ecules. The Co(II) cation is coordinated by two N atoms from two 4,4'-bipyridine ligands and four water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The 4,4'-bipyridine ligands bridge Co cations, forming a polymeric chain running along the b axis. The two pyridine rings of the 4,4'-biyridine are twisted to each other by a dihedral angle of 8.95 (9)°. Extensive O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding network is present in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the structure of the title compound, 2[Ag(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)](C(7)H(6)NO(2))(NO(3))·H(2)O, the Ag(I) atom is three-coordinated in a T-shaped configuration by two N atoms from two symmetry-related 4,4'-bipyridine (bipy) ligands at short distances and by one water O atom at a longer distance. Each bipy ligand bridges two neighbouring Ag(I) atoms, forming a chain structure extending parallel to [101]. The complete 4-amino-benzoate anion, the nitrate anion and the uncoordinated water mol-ecule are located on mirror planes: together with the coordinated water mol-ecule, they form N-H⋯O, O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, stabilizing the crystal structure.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Mn(C(12)H(6)O(4))(C(10)H(8)N(2))](n), the Mn atoms are each coordinated by four O atoms of naphthalene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate anions and two N atoms of two symmetry-related 4,4'-bipyridine ligands within a strongly distorted octa-hedra. These are connected into supra-molecular layers by hydrogen bonding involving aqua ligands, perchlorate anions and uncoordinated water mol-ecules. A twofold inter-penetrated primitive cubic supra-molecular network is formed by the inter-action of pseudo-layers by hydrogen bonding between aqua ligands and unligated 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecules.
