Bis(acetonitrile-?N)(1,10-phenanthroline-?N,N')platinum(II) bis-(perchlorate).

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Pt(CH(3)CN)(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))](ClO(4))(2), contains one half of a cationic Pt(II) complex and pair of half perchlorate anions, one of which is disordered over two sites in a 0.53?(3):0.47?(3) ratio. The complex and anions are disposed about a crystallographic mirror plane parallel to the ac plane passing through the Pt and Cl atoms. In the complex, the Pt(II) ion lies in a distorted square-planar environment defined by four N atoms of the chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and two distinct acetonitrile mol-ecules. The component ions inter-act by means of inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(CH(3)CN)(C(13)H(10)N(2))(2)](BF(4))(2), the fivefold-coordinate Cu(II) atom is located on a twofold rotation axis, imposing twofold symmetry to the complete cation. The structure exhibits disorder of the anion, which was successfully refined using a two-site model with 0.810?(3):0.190?(3) occupancy. The methyl group of the acetonitrile ligand is likewise disordered, here about the twofold rotation axis in a 1:1 ratio.

Project description:In the title complex, [PtCl2(C12H6N2O2)]·CH3CN, the Pt(II) atom lies in a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement defined by an N2Cl2 donor set. In the packed structure, columns of complex moieties are stacked such that the neighboring units are oriented at 180° and laterally displaced with respect to each other. This prevents any overlap of the phenanthroline rings and thus there is no possibility of any π-π inter-actions between aromatic rings.

Project description:The title complex, [CuFe(C(5)H(5))(C(20)H(14)N(3))(C(12)H(8)N(2))](ClO(4))(2)·C(2)H(3)N, consists of a mononuclear [Cu(C(12)H(8)N(2))(C(25)H(19)FeN(3))](2+) cation, two ClO(4) (-) anions (one of which is disordered over two positions with equal occupancy) and one CH(3)CN solvent mol-ecule. The Cu(II) center has a distorted square-pyramidal coordination with three N atoms of the 4'-ferrocenyl-2,2':6',2''- terpyridine (fctpy) ligand and one 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) N atom in the basal plane and a second phen N atom in the apical position with an axial distance of 2.254?(4)?Å. The disordered ClO(4) (-) anion is weakly coordin-ated to the Cu(II) ion with a Cu-O distance of 2.766?(11)?Å. The two cyclo-penta-dienyl rings of the ferrocenyl group are almost eclipsed with a deviation of 4.7?(1) °, and are involved in inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions with the outer pyridyl rings of the fctpy ligands [centroid-centroid distance = 3.759?(2)?Å.].

Project description:In the title complex, [FeZn(C(5)H(5))(C(20)H(14)N(3))(C(12)H(8)N(2))](ClO(4))(2)·CH(3)CN, the Zn(II) atom is five-coordinated by a tridentate chelating 4'-ferrocenyl-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine (fctpy) ligand and a bidentate chelating 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligand in a distorted square-pyramidal environment with a phen N atom located at the apical position [Zn-N = 2.259?(4)?Å]. The terpyridyl motif in each fctpy ligand is coplanar, but the cyclo-penta-dienyl ring is twisted by 9.5?(2)° out of coplanarity with each central pyridine. The two cyclo-penta-dienyl rings of the ferrocenyl group are almost eclipsed with a deviation of 4.5?(1)°. In addition, inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance 3.753?(2)?Å] are present between the cyclo-penta-dienyl and outer pyridyl rings of the fctpy ligands. One of the perchlorate anions is equally disordered over two positions.

Project description:The title compound, [Ru(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(C(13)H(7)N(3)S)](PF(6))(2)·CH(3)CN, was synthesized by the reaction of thio-phosgene and bis-(2,2'-bipyridine)(1,10-phenanthrolin-5-amine)ruthenium(II) bis-(hexa-fluoridophosphate). The Ru(II) atom adopts a slightly distorted octa-hedral RuN(6) coordinaton formed by four N atoms of two bipyridine ligands and by two N atoms of the 1,10-phenantroline ligand. The isothio-cyanate group is almost linear, with an N-C-S angle of 174.4?(6)°. Two of the three hexa-fluoridophosphate counter-anions are located on inversion centres.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [PtCl(4)(C(12)H(8)N(2))]·0.5CH(3)CN, contains two crystallographically independent Pt(IV) complexes with very similar geometry and one solvent mol-ecule. In the complexes, each Pt(IV) ion is six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral environment by two N atoms of the 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and four Cl atoms. Because of the different trans effects of the N and Cl atoms, the Pt-Cl bonds trans to the N atom are slightly shorter than those trans to the Cl atom. The compound displays numerous inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions between six-membered rings, with a shortest centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.654?Å. There are also weak intra- and inter-molecular C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds.

In both 2-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)-1,10-phenanthroline ligands, the 1,2,4-triazolyl ring and the 1,10-phenanthroline ring system are essentially coplanar [maximun deviations of 0.136?(7) and 0.273?(5)?Å, respectively]. The dihedral angle between the mean planes of the ligands is 89.65?(4)°. In the crystal structure, there is a weak ?-? stacking inter-action between a pyridine ring and a symmetry-related benzene ring with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.772?(3)?Å.

There is a weak π-π stacking inter-action between symmetry-related triazolyl rings with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.802 (4) Å and a perpendicular distance of 3.413 Å between the rings.

Project description:In the title complex, [PtI(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))], the Pt(2+) ion is four-coordinated in a slightly distorted square-planar environment by two N atoms of the chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and two iodide ions. The nearly planar mol-ecules, with a maximum deviation of 0.170 (3) Å from the least-squares plane, are stacked in columns along the c axis with a Pt⋯Pt distance of 4.8510 (6) Å. In the column, π-π inter-actions between adjacent six-membered rings are present, the shortest centroid-centroid distance being 3.703 (5) Å.
