Trichloridobis(ethyl-diphenyl-phosphine)(tetra-hydro-furan)-molybdenum(III).

ABSTRACT: In the mononuclear title compound, [MoCl(3)(C(4)H(8)O)(C(14)H(15)P)(2)], obtained by the reaction of trichloro-tris-(tetra-hydro-furan)-molybdenum(III) and ethyl-diphenyl-phosphine in tetra-hydro-furan (THF) solution, the Mo(III) atom is six-coordinated by one O atom of a THF mol-ecule, two P atoms from two ethyl-diphenyl-phosphine ligands and three Cl atoms in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The C atoms of the THF molecule are disordered over two positions in a 0.55?(2):0.45?(2) ratio.

Both organometallic mol-ecules are completed by crystallographic inversion symmetry, yielding dimeric units with Mo-Mo single-bond lengths of 3.2703?(6) and 3.2548?(6)?Å. Each Mo atom is also coordinated by an ?(5)-cyclo-pentdienyl ligand, two carbonyl ligands, and a (dec-9-en-1-yl)diphenyl-phosphine ligand.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title ionic compound (C(7)H(6)NS)[AuCl(4)]·C(4)H(8)O, the [AuCl(4)](-) anion shows a typical square-planar geometry. Numerous weak C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds between [AuCl(4)](-) and the 1,3-benzothia-zolium units form layers comprised of 24-membered rings in which hydrogen-bonded tetra-hydro-furan (THF) solvent mol-ecules are accommodated. C-H?Cl inter-actions between THF and [AuCl(4)](-) from adjacent layers result in bilayers. These are further stabilized by ?-? inter-actions between the thia-zole and benzene rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.971?(3)?Å], resulting in the formation of a three-dimensional supra-molecular assembly.

Project description:In the asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mo(2)(C(7)F(5)O(2))(4)(C(4)H(8)O)(2)], two independent half-mol-ecules are present, which are completed by a crystallographically imposed center of inversion between the individual Mo atoms. In each mol-ecule, four penta-fluoro-benzoate anions bridge the quadruply bonded Mo(2) (4+) unit that is, in addition, axially coordinated by two O atoms of tetra-hydro-furan (THF) mol-ecules. In the two independent mol-ecules, the mean Mo-Mo bond length is 2.110 Å. Since the THF mol-ecules are equally disordered over two sets of sites, there are four different Mo-O distances in both half-mol-ecules with an overall mean of 2.542 Å. A zigzag chain is formed by π-π stacking inter-actions between penta-fluoro-phenyl rings, indicated by a centroid-centroid distance of 3.7054 (11) Å and a centroid-to-plane distance of 3.4169 (3) Å. The extension of the unit gives a three-dimensional network structure with the THF mol-ecules located in the voids.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric binuclear complex of the title solvate, [Sm(2)(C(21)H(15)N(2)O(3))(2)(C(4)H(8)O)(2)]·2C(4)H(8)O, the Sm(III) is coordin-ated in a distorted monocapped octa-hedral geometry by four O atoms and two N atoms from two tridentate deprotonated 2-{bis-[(2-oxidobenzyl-idene)amino]-meth-yl}phenolate ligands and an O atom of a tetra-hydro-furan (THF) mol-ecule. The Sm?Sm distance in the complex is 3.8057?(4)?Å. Parts of the coordinating THF mol-ecule are disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.56?(3):0.44?(3) ratio. The complex and solvent mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional structure via C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:The title tetra-nuclear complex, [Au(4)(C(25)H(21)P(2))Cl(3)(C(25)H(22)P(2))]·2C(4)H(8)O, features two non-equivalent Ph(2)PCPPh(2) fragments, one of which represents the 'complete' mol-ecule (with two H atoms at the central C atom); each of the two P atoms of this mol-ecule is coordinated by an Au atom [Au-P = 2.2256?(13) and 2.2710?(13)?Å], and these two Au atoms form an Au-Au bond [3.2945?(3)?Å], thus closing the five-membered Au(2)P(2)C ring. The first of these Au atoms has a terminal chlorido ligand [Au-Cl = 2.2806?(12)?Å], whereas the second Au atom forms a covalent bond with the central C atom of the bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)methyl group [Au-C = 2.114?(5)?Å]; the latter group in turn coordinates with its P atoms the gold atoms of the Cl-Au-Au-Cl group [Au-P = 2.2356?(13) and 2.2338?(13), Au-Au = 3.3177?(3), Au-Cl = 2.3091?(12) and 2.2950?(13)?Å], thus closing the second Au(2)P(2)C ring. The two such rings have different chemical functions, but both exhibit envelope conformations. However, the first (with different substituents at the Au atoms) is non-symmetrical with one of the P atoms in the flap position of the envelope; the other one has a conformation with mirror symmetry, and the gold-substituted C atom is displaced by 0.740?(5)?Å from the almost exactly planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0038?Å) Au(2)P(2) group.

Project description:The mol-ecular structure of the title compound, [Mo(2)(CH(3)COO)(2)Cl(2)(C(30)H(25)NP(2))]·0.3CH(2)Cl(2)·1.7C(4)H(8)O, features an Mo-Mo dumbbell bridged by two acetate groups which are trans to each other. Perpendicular to the plane spanned by the acetate groups, the Ph(2)PN(Ph)PPh(2) ligand bridges both Mo atoms, having a P-N-P angle of 114.09 (19)°. In a trans position to the PNP ligand are two Cl atoms, one on each molybdenum centre. The Mo-Mo bond distance is 2.1161 (9) Å, within the range known for Mo-Mo quadruple bonds. The Mo complex is located on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis which runs through the N-C bond of the ligand. The site occupation factors of the disordered solvent molecules were fixed to 0.15 for dichloromethane and 0.85 for tetrahydrofuran.

Two of the benzyl groups are bonded in a classical ?1-fashion through the methyl-ene via the ipso-carbon atom of the benzyl ligand in addition to bonding through the methyl-ene C atom, resulting in a modified trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry about the Lu center.

The Ga(III) atom, located on a twofold rotation axis, is coordinated by four trimethyl-silanolate ligands and has a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The Li(I) atom is four coordinated by one bridging Br atom located on an inversion centre, two trimethyl-silanolate ligands and one tetra-hydro-furane mol-ecule in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The polymeric chains extend along [001]. The tetra-hydro-furane mol-ecule is disordered over two positions with site-occupancy factors of 0.57?(2) and 0.43?(2).
