Diethyl 2-[(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)(4-meth-oxy-phen-yl)meth-yl]propane-dioate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(20)H(26)N(2)O(5), was prepared in good yield (76%) through condensation of diethyl (4-meth-oxy-benz-yl)propane-dioate with 3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazole. The dihedral between the benzene and pyrazole rings is 83.96?(10)°. The crystal packing is stabilized by a C-H?O inter-action, which links the mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers.

Project description:There are two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(17)H(20)N(2)O(4), which differ slightly in the orientation of the phenyl ring and carbonyl groups with respect to the pyrazole unit. In the first mol-ecule, the dihedral angle between the phenyl and pyrazole rings is 68.99?(13)° while the two carbonyl groups make a dihedral angle of 72.1?(4)°. The corresponding values in the second mol-ecule are 68.54?(14) and 71.5?(4)°, respectively.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title polymer, {[Na(4)(C(15)H(14)N(2)O(4))(2)]·7.5H(2)O}(n), contains two 2-[(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)(phen-yl)meth-yl]propane-dioate (ppmp) anions, eight water mol-ecules (one located on a twofold rotation axis) and five sodium cations (one located on an inversion center and the other one located on a twofold rotation axis). The carboxyl-ate groups of the ppmp anions and the water mol-ecules bridge the Na cations, forming a two-dimensional polymeric structure. In the structure there are two types of coordination environment around the metal cations: one Na cation is coordinated by five O atoms in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry while the other four Na cations are coordinated by six O atoms in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Extensive O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure. The H atoms of one methyl group of the ppmp anion are disordered equally over two positions.

Project description:The title zinc complex, [ZnCl(2)(C(18)H(22)N(4))], contains a bidentate 1,2-bis(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-ylmeth-yl)benz-ene ligand that binds to the zinc atom, forming a nine-membered metallocyclic ring. The geometry about the Zn atom is distorted tetra-hedral, with the largest deviation observed in the magnitude of the Cl-Zn-Cl angle. Similar distortions are observed in the cobalt analogue and related zinc compounds containing metallocyclic rings with more than six members. The copper analogue exhibits a more severe distortion of the metal coordination sphere than is observed in the title compound.
