ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(17)H(16)N(2)·H(2)O, the imidazole ring is essentially planar [maximum deviation = 0.0037 (7) Å]. The imidazole ring makes dihedral angles of 80.74 (7) and 41.62 (7)° with the phenyl rings attached to the N and C atoms, respectively. The dihedral angle between the two phenyl rings is 75.83 (8)°. Inter-molecular O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are found in the crystal structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C18H16F2N2·H2O, contains two independent mol-ecules (A and B), and two independent water mol-ecules of crystallization. In mol-ecule A, the imidazole ring makes dihedral angles of 47.46?(7) and 60.98?(6)° with the 2,4-di-fluoro-phenyl and methyl-phenyl rings, respectively. The corresponding angles in mol-ecule B are 45.85?(7) and 62.78?(7)°, respectively. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 64.98?(7)° in mol-ecule A and 65.53?(7)° in mol-ecule B. In the crystal, the two independent mol-ecules are linked by O-H?N and O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming chains propagating along [100]. These chains are linked via C-H?F hydrogen bonds, forming slab-like two-dimensional networks lying parallel to (001).

In the crystal structure, the components are linked by N-H⋯Cl, N-H⋯N, N-H⋯O and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds into a layered motif.

Project description:The title compound, C26H24Cl2N2, crystallizes with two independent mol-ecules (1 and 2) in the asymmetric unit. In mol-ecule 1, the two phenyl and 2,6-di-chloro-phenyl rings are inclined to the imidazole ring at angles of 74.12 (14), 26.13 (14) and 67.30 (14)°, respectively. In mol-ecule 2, due to the different mol-ecular environment in the crystal, the corresponding angles are different, viz. 71.72 (15), 16.14 (15) and 80.41 (15)°, respectively. In the crystal, mol-ecules 1 and 2 are linked by C-H⋯Cl inter-actions, and inversion-related 2 mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯π inter-actions. There are no other significant inter-molecular inter-actions present.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(3)H(4)N(2))(C(10)H(11)N(3))(2)](ClO(4))(2), the Cu(II) cation has a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry defined by a CuN(2)N'(2)N'' donor set. The imidazole ligand is disordered over two orientations of equal occupancy. Two of the perchlorate ion sites are located on a twofold rotation axis, and one of is disordered over two sites of equal occupancy. In the crystal structure there is a two-dimensional infinite network of hydrogen-bonded mol-ecules parallel to the ab plane.
