ABSTRACT: The title compound, [V(2)F(2)O(4)(C(10)H(8)N)(2)], is a centrosymmetric binuclear vanadium(V) species with the metal ions in a distorted octa-hedral environment. The coordination geometries of the symmetry-equivalent V(V) atoms are defined by cis-terminal fluoride and oxide groups, unsymmetrically bridging oxide groups and the N-atom donors of the bipyridyl ligand. The crystal packing is stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H?O and C-H?F hydrogen bonds.

The bridging O atom occupies a center of symmetry. Project description:The centrosymmetric binuclear complex, [Cu2(C2H2N2O4)(C10H8N2)2(C2H6OS)2](ClO4)2, contains two copper(II) ions, connected through an N-deprotonated oxalodi-hydroxamic acid dianion, two terminal 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligands, and two apically coordinating dimethylsulfoxide mol-ecules. Two non-coordinating perchlorate anions assure electrical neutrality. The copper(II) ions in the complex dication [Cu2(C10H8N2)2(μ-C2H2N2O4)(C2H6SO)2](2+) are in an O2N3 square-pyramidal donor environment, the Cu-Cu separation being 5.2949 (4) Å. Two hydroxamate groups in the deprotonated oxalodi-hydroxamic acid are located trans to one each other. In the crystal, O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the complex cations to the perchlorate anions. Further C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds combine with π-π contacts with a centroid-to-centroid separation of 3.6371 (12) Å to stack the mol-ecules along the a-axis direction.

Project description:A new monoclinic polymorph of the title compound, [V(2)(C(10)H(13)N(2)O)(2)O(4)], which is a centrosymmetric dimer, crystallizes in space group P2(1)/c, whereas the previously known polymorph crystallizes in the ortho-rhom-bic space group Pbca [Mokry & Carrano (1993 ▶). Inorg. Chem.32, 6119-6121]. Each V(V) atom is six-coordinated by one oxide group, two N atoms and one O atom from the Schiff base ligand, and by two additional bridging O atoms. The two methyl-ene groups are each disordered over two sites, with occupancy factors of 0.776 (14) and 0.224 (14). In the crystal structure, there are C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-H⋯π inter-actions between the dimers.

Project description:In the title structure, [Ti2(C16H16N2O2)2O2]·2CHCl3, the Ti atom is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by the O,N,N',O' donor set of the salalen ligand and by two μ2-oxide O atoms, which bridge two Ti(salalen) fragments into a centrosymmetric dimeric unit. In the central Ti2(μ2-O)2 fragment, the metal-oxygen distances are significantly different [1.7962 (19) and 1.9292 (19) Å]. In the crystal, the chloro-form mol-ecule is anchored via an N-H⋯Cl and a bifurcated C-H⋯(O,O) hydrogen bond. Slipped π-π stacking [shortest C⋯C distance = 3.585 (4) Å] and C-H⋯π inter-actions contribute to the coherence of the structure.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(2)V(4)O(12)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)](n), shows a two-dimensional copper-vanadate layer composed of eight-membered rings, each containing four corner-sharing VO(4) tetra-hedra; these are linked through six penta-coordinated Cu(II) atoms with the 2,2'-bipyridine ligands attached and pointing above and below the plane of the layer. The Cu atom is coordinated by two N donors from the 2,2'-bipyridine ligand and three O atoms from three adjacent VO(4) units to form a distorted tetragonal pyramid. These layers are further connected by ?-? inter-actions between inter-leaving bipyridine ligands of adjacent layers [centroid-centroid distances = 3.63?(1) and 3.68?(1)?Å] into a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.
