Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(12)H(8)Cl(2)O(4), mol-ecules crystallize in planes parallel to (-204) with an inter-planar distance of 3.288 (2) Å [centroid-centroid distance = 3.819 (2) and slippage = 1.932 (2) Å]. The structure features C-H⋯O inter-actions involving meth-oxy and aromatic H atoms and the carbonyl O atoms as well as a C-H⋯Cl inter-action involving an aromatic H atom. In addition there are short inter-halogen contacts between adjoining mol-ecules [Cl⋯Cl = 3.3709 (5) Å].

Project description:In the title structure of the title compound, C23H19NO2, two conformationally similar mol-ecules (A and B) comprise the asymmetric unit. The dihedral angle between phenyl rings bridged by the quinoline moiety are 76.25 (8)° in mol-ecule A and 70.39 (9)° in mol-ecule B. In the crystal, the independent mol-ecules are connected by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and the resulting dimeric aggregates are linked by π-π [inter-centroid distance = 3.7370 (8) Å] and C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional architecture.

Project description:The title compound, C(17)H(14)BrNO(2), was synthesized by the treatment of 5,7-dimeth-oxy-4-phenyl-quinolin-2-one with phosphoryl bromide in a Vilsmeier-type reaction. There are two independent mol-ecules (A and B) in the asymmetric unit which differ by 11.2° in the orientation of the 4-phenyl ring with respect to the planar quinoline ring system [dihedral angles = 55.15?(8) and 66.34?(8)° in mol-ecules A and B, respectively]. In the crystal structure, the independent mol-ecules are linked via C-H?N and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming centrosymmetric tetra-meric units which are cross-linked through C-H?? and C-Br?? inter-actions with Br?centroid distances of 3.4289?(8) and 3.5967?(8)?Å.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the 5:3 title co-crystal of 2-amino-4-phenyl-5,6-dihydro-benzo[h]quinoline-3-carbonitrile and 3-amino-1-phenyl-9,10-dihydro-phenanthrene-2,4-dicarbonitrile, 0.625C(20)H(15)N(3).0.375C(22)H(15)N(3), has the atoms of the fused-ring system and those of the amino, cyano and phenyl substitutents overlapped. The fused-ring system is buckled owing to the ethyl-ene linkage in the central ring, the two flanking aromatic rings being twisted by 20.1?(1)°. This ethyl-ene portion is disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio. The phenyl ring is twisted by 69.5?(1)° relative to the amino- and cyano-bearing aromatic ring. In the crystal, two mol-ecules are linked by an N-H?N hydrogen bond, generating a a helical chain along [010].

Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(13)NO(4), is one cyclization product of the reaction of ethyl 1-(2-bromo-eth-yl)-4,7-dimeth-oxy-1H-indole-2-carboxyl-ate with sodium azide in refluxing dioxane and was synthesized with the aim of finding new compounds with biological properties. Bond lengths and angles are within the expected values and confirm the bond orders giving in the scheme. The shortest contacts between mol-ecules are set along the a axis, where stacked mol-ecules related by an inversion center form an ABAB array through π-π stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances ranging from 3.922 (2) to 4.396 (2) Å. Weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds further stabilize the structure.

The ring of the dimeth-oxy-phenyl substituent is twisted by 72.4?(1)° relative to the amino- and cyano-bearing aromatic ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by duplex amine N-H?O(meth-oxy) hydrogen bonds in a cyclic association [graph-set R(2) (2)(7)], generating a helical chain structure extending along [201].
