ABSTRACT: In the crystal of the title compound, C(22)H(22)N(8)O(3), the dicarbohydrazide mol-ecules are linked into a chain along [010] by C-H?N inter-actions involving the pyridyl N atoms and aromatic C-H groups. The DMF mol-ecule is hydrogen bonded with the amide N-H via N-H?O inter-actions. C-H?O inter-actions also occur.

The benzene and pyridine rings form a dihedral angle of 17.13?(7)°. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a two-dimensional supermolecular structure parallel to the ab plane.

Project description:The mol-ecular structure of the pyridine derivative, C19H15N3O4·C3H7NO, shows almost planar geometry with dihedral angles of 6.9 (1) and 13.4 (1)° between the pyridine ring and the two benzene rings. This conformation is stabilized by two intra-molecular N-H⋯N(pyridine) bonds. In the crystal, strong O-H⋯O(carboxamide) and N-H⋯O(hy-droxy-phen-yl) hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules, forming a three-dimensional structure. The di-methyl-formamide solvent mol-ecules are not involved in the hydrogen bonding. The structure shows pseudosymmetry, but refinement in the space group Pbcn leads to significantly worse results and a disordered di-methyl-formamide mol-ecule.

In the crystal structure, the picrate anions and solvent dimethyl-formamide (DMF) mol-ecules are connected to the cation via inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Further stabilization is provided by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. One of the DMF moleclues is disordered over two sites with refined occupancies of 0.737 (3) and 0.263 (3).

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title coordination polymer, {[Zn(2)(C(17)H(8)O(10))(C(3)H(7)NO)(2)]·C(3)H(7)NO}(n), the mol-ecular build-ing block (MBB), viz. {Zn(2)(CO(2))(4)(C(3)H(7)NO)(2)}, comprises two zinc atoms, each bridged by three carboxyl-ate groups. These two Zn atoms exhibit different coordination environments: a distorted coordination intermediate between trigonal-pyramidal, and square-pyramidal formed by the two coordinated dimethyl-formamide mol-ecules and three carboxylate groups, and a distorted tetra-hedral coordination defined by carboxy-late groups of which three are bidentate bridging and the fourth is a monodentate ligand. Thus, each ligand connects four MBBs, forming the three-dimensional polymer.

Weak intra-molecular C-H?O and C-H?N inter-actions help to stabilize the mol-ecular structure. In the crystal, the lattice water mol-ecule links with the Ni(II) complex and dimethyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule via O-H?O hydrogen bonding.

In the crystal, noncovalent inter-actions play an important role in the stabilization of the structure, involving O-H?O, N-H?O and weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds and ?-? stacking inter-actions between the pyridine rings of the pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate ligands [centroid-centroid distance = 3.7138?(15)?Å] and between the 8-hy-droxy-2-methyl-quinolinium cations [centroid-centroid distances = 3.6737?(15), 3.4434?(14), 3.6743?(15), 3.7541?(16), 3.5020?(15) and 3.7947?(15)?Å].
