Acetonitrile-bis-(2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phen-an-throline)copper(II) bis-(tetra-fluorido-borate).

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Cu(CH(3)CN)(C(12)H(12)N(2))(2)](BF(4))(2), crystallizes with two copper-containing cations and four tetra-fluoro-borate anions in the asymmetric unit. The structure represents a second crystal form of the salt, the first being an acetonitrile solvate [Watton (2009 ?). Acta Cryst. E65, m585-m586]. The complex cation has a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry, whereas the previous structure exhibits a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. One of the four BF(4) (-) counter-ions is disordered, with a refined site occupancy of 0.8615?(17):0.1385?(17).

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(14)H(12)N(2))(3)](PF(6))(2)·CH(3)CN, the [Cu(5,6-dmp)(3)](2+) cationic complex (5,6-dmp is 5,6-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline) is stabilized by two hexa-fluorido-phosphate anions and one acetonitrile solvent mol-ecule. The coordination geometry around the Cu(II) atom can be described as distorted elongated octa-hedral with R(out) = 2.277?(2)?Å, R(in) = 2.052?(2)?Å and a tetra-gonality of 0.9011, acquiring a 'static' stereochemistry. In the supra-molecular network, there are inter-molecular C-H?F and C-H?N inter-actions with R(3) (3)(16), R(2) (2)(7), R(1) (2)(4), R(3) (3)(16) and C(3) (2)(7) motifs that lead to an infinite three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(CH(3)CN)(C(13)H(10)N(2))(2)](BF(4))(2), the fivefold-coordinate Cu(II) atom is located on a twofold rotation axis, imposing twofold symmetry to the complete cation. The structure exhibits disorder of the anion, which was successfully refined using a two-site model with 0.810?(3):0.190?(3) occupancy. The methyl group of the acetonitrile ligand is likewise disordered, here about the twofold rotation axis in a 1:1 ratio.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(H2O)6](BF4)2·3C4H4N2O2, comprises discrete [Cu(H2O)6](2+) cations and BF4 (-) anions along with three equivalents of pyrazine 1,4-dioxide (pzdo). The hexa-aqua-copper(II) ion and all three pzdo mol-ecules lie about crystallographic inversion centers. The lattice is supported by an extensive hydrogen-bonding network. O-H?O hydrogen bonding between the [Cu(H2O)6](2+) and pzdo units creates a pseudo-hexa-gonal lattice parallel to the bc plane. The BF4 (-) anions lie in the voids of that lattice, held in place by O-H?F hydrogen bonds, and also generate BF4 (-)-pzdo-BF4 (-)-pzdo stacks via short F?N contacts [2.866?(3)-3.283?(4)?Å].

Project description:The title compound, {[Cu(C(10)H(14)N(4)Se)(2)(H(2)O)](BF(4))(2)·2C(18)H(15)PO·H(2)O}(n), has a polymeric structure where each Cu(II) ion adopts a square-pyramidal coordination constituted by four N atoms of pyrazole moieties in the equatorial plane and an axial O atom of a water mol-ecule. A pair of bis-(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl) selenide ligands bridges the Cu(II) centres into a chain extending along the c axis. The water mol-ecules, anions and triphenyl-phosphine oxide mol-ecules are involved in inter-molecular hydrogen bonding, which links the chains into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex [Cu(C14H12N2)2]2[Fe(CN)5(NO)], consists of a [Cu(dmp)2](+) cation (dmp is 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline) and half an [Fe(CN)5(NO)](2-) anion. The anion is disordered across an inversion center with the Fe(II) ion slightly offset (ca 0.205Å) from the inversion center in the direction of the disordered trans-coordinating CN/NO ligands. The anion has a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The Cu(I) ion is coordinated by two phenanthroline ligands in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The dihedral angle between the phenanthroline ligands is 77.16?(4)?Å. In the crystal, the cations are connected to the anions by weak C-H?N hydrogen bonds. In addition, weak ?-? stacking inter-actions are observed, with centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.512?(3)-3.859?(3)?Å.

Chains with the bridging ligands are formed along the a axis. C-H?F inter-actions stabilize the structure. C-O?? inter-actions also occur.

Project description:The title complex, [Cu(C(11)H(10)N(2)O(2))(2)](BF(4))(2)·2H(2)O, was isolated as a dihydrate from a 1:2 molar mixture of copper(II) tetra-fluoridoborate hexa-hydrate with di-2-pyridyl ketone in aqueous solution. The centrosymmetric complex cation is structurally similar to that found in previously reported salts and exhibits Cu-O bonds deviating by 25 degrees from an octa-hedral geometry by the so-called 'off-axis angle' distortion. The BF(4) (-) anion exhibits a two site disorder of the fluorine atoms [ratio 0.210?(8):0.790?(8)].

Project description:The improved synthesis and characterization of tetra-pyrazine-platinum(II) bis-(tetra-fluoro-borate) acetonitrile hemisolvate, [Pt(C(4)H(4)N(2))(4)](BF(4))(2)·0.5CH(3)CN, is reported. The unit cell contains a half equivalent of an acetonitrile solvent mol-ecule per tetra-pyrazine-platinum(II) ion. The coordination geometry of the Pt(II) ion is almost square-planar, with the Pt atom residing on an inversion center. The BF(4) (-) counter-anion, located at a general position, has an idealized tetra-hedral geometry and an acetonitrile solvent mol-ecule, the methyl group of which is disordered over two equal positions, sits on a twofold rotation axis.

Project description:In the asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Mn(C(7)H(5)O(3))(2)(C(14)H(12)N(2))(H(2)O)]·0.5C(14)H(12)N(2), the Mn(II) ion is coordinated by a bidentate 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline (dmphen) mol-ecule, one water mol-ecule and two monodentate 2-hydroxy-benzoate anions in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. The OH group of the 2-hydroxy-benzoate anion is disordered over two positions with site-occupancy factors of 0.5. The asymmetric unit is completed with by an uncoordinated half-mol-ecule of dmphen, disordered about a crystallographic twofold axis. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked into a two-dimensional framework by O-H?N, O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The packing of the structure is further stabilized by ?-? stacking inter-actions involving dmphen mol-ecules, with centroid-centroid separations of 3.8027?(3) and 3.6319?(3)?Å.
